Staff were wonderful. Clean and friendly. Only issue for me were no shower mat, and they might of had some if I had asked, but 6am was a bit early for room service. Apart from that fabulous stay

It was lovely and right in town.

Easy self check in. Hotel was in a great location. The rooms were modern decor, comfortable and had a big bathroom. Breakfast was a little pricey but was of a high standard. The overall hotel was clean and stylish.

Clean rooms, and big

Nicely refurbished hotel, excellent food and breakfast. Not sure I like the self service check in, not that it didn’t work, it did but just prefer the personal touch for a hotel striving for the boutique feel. Overall a nice stay and friendly staff. They missed cleaning the room one day which was disappointing.

Great location & generally a nice room but very uncomfortable bed (could feel the springs) and pillows not very supportive. Limited range of continental breakfast options but nice cooked breakfast.

Extremely helpful & accommodating staff. Bar is beautiful! Breakfast was very nice. Room was a bit of a let down, felt a bit run down & bed was uncomfortable. But was a fire exit room so maybe that’s why?

Staff were lovely, hotel had everything you could want and the food, especially breakfast was top class. A bit short on parking and not a fan of the automated check in but it was simple enough. A beautiful place to visit and great hotel to stay in.

Had a really pleasant stay at Gwydyr Hotel. The hotel is charming, well-maintained, and very comfortable, with spotless rooms and a cosy atmosphere. Service was warm and attentive, and breakfast was delicious. Just a small note that there’s no lift, but staff were helpful and everything else more than made up for it. Would happily stay again and recommend it.

Exceptional - the customer service was really quite impressive, especially the young lad on the bar. Can't wait to come back next year!

The Gwydyr Hotel has a three-star rating that based on a recent overnight stay is just about justified. The hotel is well located, but parking is a challenge with property’s car park being cramped and inadequate for the size of the hotel. When accessed from the car park, the lobby and reception give a positive impression. Our room was at the back of the hotel, overlooking the car park. It had two beds: a double and a single. A night’s sleep was difficult to achieve as the double was small and sunken in the middle, while the single sloped significantly from left to right. The carpet was well trodden with the odd floorboard that moved when walked on and a hanging rail serving as a wardrobe. The en suite bathroom was similar, being tired with a sloping floor and a corner sink so small that it was a challenge just to wash your face. The same applies to the shower cubicle. While areas of the hotel have been improved, the carpet in the hall and on the stairs appears well-worn. Breakfast was fine, being a combination of buffet and a la carte, although service was initially somewhat indifferent, albeit better thereafter. Overall, the hotel is akin to a curate’s egg, being partly good and partly bad.
