Several weaknesses prevent an excellent review. Staff understanding of processes and procedures related to the restaurant are inconsistent. Sometimes they insist that you sign for your free breakfast and sometimes they don’t. This is complicated by the fact that the waiters often disappeared after initial service. Additionally, room doors were difficult to open and often took several tries. Hotel staff explained the locks were new, but forced guests to deal with the problem.

For this to be considered one of the best hotels in Georgetown there’s a few things that lacked. The water didn’t get too hot just warm enough to handle your business. Upon entering the room I noticed the curtains were mangled and shredded idk what that was about. Perhaps change out damage property. The group around bathroom sink needed redoing. The ice machine on my floor flooded the small room off the side of the corridor it was attached to. The “cooler” in the room smelled like it was breaking down and food from prior storage still lingered. The food there was amazing drinks were ok. Pool stayed cleaned and checked frequently for any debris.

As a Marriott member, I was extremely disappointed in the room. I paid $500 a night and it was below standard. I had my 4yr old son with me. I rented a room at Marriott for convenience and comfortability for my toddler. Netflix did not work ..pop up message saying internet was not available. The pool was dirty. The restaurant staff was AWFUL. Beyond slow and did not come over when i called her off twice. I had to raise my voice and ask if i can order food for my child..and her response was ..where did you get your drinks? I said i was staying at the hotel and these drinks are from the lobby bar. She was rude and hesitated to take my order for my son. I asked again if she can put in the order and I won't order anything. I just wanted my child to eat. She reluctantly took the order and it came 25min later. In addition when checking out ..I asked if $500 was a standard rate or did they raise it due to Christmas season. Reception said it's standard rate however local residents get the room for $299 a night. My mom who paid for the room and had her ID to prove she was a local resident of Guyana didn't get the $299 rate. To sum it up...don't waste your time staying here.....The service was terrible, the food was terrible, the pool was awful, the drinks were dreadful. the staff in the restaurant were slow and downright rude. No one came to our room to fix the tv - Netflix. I called 3times and no one came. Worst Marriott experience ever.

Only reason to come to this hotel is because it's the only business travel friendly hotel in the region. The service is terrible. The food is just ok. They nickle and dime you at every opportunity. It's way overpriced and will soon get a wakeup call when the competition ramps up.
