To round out our Moroccan journey, I decided early on that my I should make a stop in Madrid right after leaving Tangier. The way I planned this layover was spectacular and choosing Room Mate Collection Alba, turned out to be the perfect fit. Alba feels like a super charming petit hotel. The dramatic middle staircase splits into a left and right staircase that catches your eye real quick. From the elevator button panels to the room direction signs on each floor, the Art Deco-inspired design details are seen throughout the hotel, giving it a stylish feel. Our rooms ranged in size- some with two twin beds, the room I shared with my aunties had two full beds and my younger cousin had a room with a full-size bed. Each room had all the essential amenities, but it was the beds that truly stood out. The beds had crisp, bright white linens and were so plush- they made our overnight stay feel lux and comfy. Alba's location couldn’t have been better. After checking in around 5:00 p.m., we were able to map out almost everything we wanted to see and do within walking distance. Being right in the heart of Madrid made it easy to soak in the city’s energy, wander around the cobblestone streets and truly make the most of our short stay. To top it all off, the front desk staff was awesome. A special thank you to Marcos and the entire team for their genuine hospitality.

The best thing was the hospitality of the front desk staff! they reserved me a taxi to pick me up from the front of the hotel and at a set rate. Spaceous room, clean bathroom, 10/10 would stay again. good location aswell

The location, staff and room were all excellent. Even being on a busy street I was not able to hear much of anything happening outside and we were there when Spain entered the World Cup finals and won. Will definitely book again on my next visit!

Great comfortable rooms. The room was clean, great air conditioning, bed was amazingly comfortable and large. Centrally located around shopping, markets, and restaurants. Staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was average. Really nice hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

The beed was kind of dated. Had to stay in the middle of the beed to get some support, as if they have seen better days. Pillows weren't that good.

El hotel es el mismo de hace varios años, la zona por la noches no es muy agradable, mucha basura. En recepción al principio muy amable, pero ante una situación me han dicho ”Esto no es el Ritz”. Por lo demás el desayuno bueno, las habitaciones también. Es una cadena de hoteles bastante aceptable.

Location was perfect and easy to find from the metro station, it was a short walk. Lots coffee, shopping, and food close by. Felt very safe and secure as a single female traveler. The room was so nice, a great bed! Staff was also helpful when I asked for directions and recs, and booked me a taxi to the airport. Would definitely stay again!

I really enjoyed my stay. The property is in a nice neighborhood, a little street that’s pretty quiet and pretty. It’s also a twenty minute or less walk to just about everywhere you’d want to go. I was navigating effortlessly at all times of day. The room was cozy (for a solo traveler perfect size, but maybe cramped for two or more) and well maintained with what I thought were high quality materials, nice tile in the bathroom, comfy carpet, nice bedding, pretty furniture. I loved the giant flatscreen that allowed me to stream Netflix (or Apple TV if that’s your preferred app). They had lots of tasty snacks in the mini bar which I enjoyed every night. The complimentary water was really appreciated on these scorching hot days. They had a room service menu with a QR code to order but unfortunately it wasn’t working for me. I found myself so comfortable here that I actually skipped a few plans in my itinerary just to fully relax and enjoy the room (and dodge the blazing sun outside). The one demerit for this place was the breakfast. It was disappointing. They have a nice selection of fruits, cheeses, and cold cut meats but the hot options were kind of gross. For example, they served potatoes that tasted still partially frozen on the inside. The “bacon” was typical of Europe, nothing a typical American would recognize. But that didn’t damper my experience. The staff were super friendly and helpful. I’d happily stay here again.

Staff is very helpful and considerate. Good breakfast and great location. Room is a bit small but bathroom is above average. Comfortable and a decent value.
