This hotel is simply superb. It hs all the amenities of a large resort (swimming pools, oceanfront), good food, but it is locally owned and inspired and has very positive character. I travel a lot and would recommend this place very highly.

Rooms were clean and mondern. Staff was respectful. Were never told about extra cost for having a guest until check out. Unexpected expense.

Well maintained, amazing staff . Shuttle service actually showed up . Rooms are spacious and modern. Big screen TV . Breakfast and Lunch were excellent with plenty of options. Ocean front with bar and 2 swimming pools. Only minor complaint is the dining chairs are brutally stiff , cushions would help. Awesome Hotel. 🙏❤️

Perfect hideaway to relax and enjoy the beach and pool. Hotel has a lovely relax feel with warm atmosphere. Food also very good. Staff were excellent, I look forward to returning someday.

Nice and welcoming hotel with a very friendly and accomodating team. Overall a good stay with only one minor point to mention - no real hot water to shower at any time of day (lukewarm at best). The beach is not tremendously clean but that’s par for the course in most of Senegal.

Location and quality for the price

The hotel did not honor our non-refundable reservation. They said they did not receive a confirmation from hotels.com. We showed them our confirmation, and that it was prepaid. They still did not honor the reservation. Sure hope hotels.com returns my $93

You can see that the Hotel has been recently refurbished so room and pool equipment are all new and in good condition. Buffet food is ok. Unfortunately we had a room that overlooked the road as they said this is happens when you book via Expedia. They recommended to call directly next time to get a seaview room.

African Queen is a perfect not-too-big and not-too-small gem of a hotel on Somone beach. Recently renovated, tastefully decorated, clean, comfortable and perfect for relaxation. Staff is very helpful and generous with smiles. Food fresh and delicious...the whole experience was a feast for all senses. I higly recommend it and will be back for sure!

There was a cockroach in my room

Beachfront property with great African theme of natural vibes. Service was wonderful. Room was decent sized with king bed, AC and hot shower. Only issue was a small floor leak in bathroom from unknown source. Breakfast was fabulous. Great resort for getaway.

This place is a treasure! Just the right size (large enough for amenities, small enough for a friendly feel with no waiting). The entire staff was so helpful and accommodating (with, among everything, English speakers). The food is good with fresh fish (and other offerings) every night, the pool is great (with 2 small baby pools), the beach a step away and beautiful.

A beautiful location on the beach. Wonderful breakfast and the staff were so friendly and nice. Room had a fridge which was a bonus . A great 3 night stay to start our vacation.

Africa queen is a little 3 stars hotel with a perfect location just in front of the ocean. We really enjoyed our stay in the hotel. The numbers are cleaned every day and if you need an additional cleaning the personnel will do their best. It’s better to take just a breakfast as the food in the hotel is not so good but there are many little and quality restaurants which are located next to the hotel.
