Spent 1 night here while backpacking Europe. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. I would stay here if I needed a place in Zurich again.

Great location, nice room, friendly staff.

Very old hotel. No manager available. Self check-in. Shower did not work well. Had to request more more toilet paper, Kleenex, only given 1 glass. No a/c.Did not enjoy our stay!

Staff was nice and helpful during the heatwave. The shower would back up and flood the bathroom floor even when we were extremely conservative with the shower water. I had sent a notification to management and never heard a word from anyone. I was under the impression that the hotel had a restaurant, wrong!

Do not stay here in the summer. Rooms have no air conditioning. I checked in and the room was stuck at 30 degrees Celsius/86 Fahrenheit.

AC works well in the room. Self Check-in is actually in the cafe next door, which was not well communicated at first. Very close to the Zurich train stop and a bus stop.

Automated checkin was quick and easy. Staff at bar where you check in were helpful. Room was clean with efficient use of space. Location was great.

No staff really. No amenities really. Spacious room. Comfy bed. Quiet. The shower for water all over the bathroom floor. Needs updating.

The kitchenette was a great cost saver, with Coop store right across the street. The staff in the hotel and little cafe were all very nice and helpful. The location of Hotel Josef is very convenient, very close to Train station, trams, and busses. We totally enjoyed our stay!!

Very convenient location, beautiful spacious room and great sound proofing. Loved it.

When I went to bed there were crumbs or dirt in the bed, obviously linen was not changed. Usb charging port not working.

Brilliant location

Ultra-boutique hotel very close to the train station. It was a fantastic area with lots of food options nearby. The bed was very cozy and warm. I had an issue with my room and the staff came immediately to help, even though I checked in rather late and resolved it right away.

This hotel is very well placed close to the Zurich HB train station, but the interior left a lot to be desired. The underside of the bed was quite dusty, the bathroom sink was slow to drain and one of the sliding bathroom doors didn't close properly. The downstairs provisions for breakfast, snacks and hot drinks were very well made with friendly and very helpful staff, but the room itself was in need of improvement.

Very small room

As there is no hotel staff per se - automated check in and no ammenties I gave those two reviews as a 3 out of 5 - the rest of the hotel, being the room - 10 out of 10 - I love how it is basically beside the train station, which makes it very convenient. Excellent sound proofing so you don't hear the trains - well perhaps a bit - but i love trains so it didn't bother me.

Great location just a short walk from the main station and central Zurich. Easy check-in via the touch screen. Clean and good quality interior fittings. The windows have shutters on them, some controlled via switches. Comfortable bed, clean room. Bag storage in the basement controlled via key card for security. Amazing coffee and pastries served in the cafe, the hazelnut latte was fantastic also! I’d happily stay here again and would reccomend to friends/colleagues

Room is too dark, bathroom is poorly designed, wall paint is dirty and looks shabby.
