The hotel is extremely well located every location of interest in the downtown is walkable. The hotel is extremely clean and as on the pictures. We had breakfast included which was great, nice choice, local food options and large portions. It was perfect. Our room was rather noisy because of the work ongoing in the backstreet. As if the room is noisy if it is a problem for you. We didn’t change room. We would use it again next time

Very walkable to museums, shopping, dining. Free breakfast was great with plenty of options. Room was spacious.

The hotel is located in a bad, unsafe area with no parking available. The staff appeared unhappy and uninterested, as if they were just there for a paycheck. The sheets were dirty, the A/C and toilet didn’t work properly, and I didn’t feel safe at all. The location is extremely noisy and chaotic, and the food was also very disappointing. Overall, a very bad hotel experience.

The room was good and comfortable. We had a balcony but the door was sealed shut. The street noise was loud. All the employees from the desk to the restaurant to the cleaning crew were very friendly and helpful. Extremely convenient to markets.

Great stay in the middle of the plaza. Very walkable. Rooms were clean and mondern. Breakfast was awesome. Take advantage every morning. Great choices. Front desk personnel were pleasant and helpful. No complaints from me.

Perfect spot to stay next to San Jose city-center. Everything is walkable from this small hotel which is half a block from the main square. Staff is very nice, helpful, English-speaking, and accommodating. Free breakfast is large and lots of choices. Room was HUGE and very clean, bathroom was very modern, and the bed was comfortable. High marks!!

I enjoy staying at Cultura Plaza because of the location, friendly staff and nice breakfast. The rooms are nice but a bit small. I will return..

This is such a nice budget hotel with a good view from the top. Breakfast is included, and the typical Costa Rica breakfast is an option. You’ll notice wear and tear from the place being an older building, but nearly everything functioned fine. My only complaint is that the electrical outlets didn’t work in my room except for the one with the fridge. My friend’s outlets did. I had a phone-charging battery pack, so it didn’t matter to me. I imagine they’d be accommodating if that were to matter to you.

Front desk refused to accommodate us, he was ruded, bothered, unwilling to help us, we ask for another room and Daniel Joseph who kept changing his name refused to rent us another room.

The staff were super helpful! Our flight was delayed and already a late evening flight. I got in contact and they provided us a ride service (for a fee, worth it), and we were able to get to the hotel safe and sound. Great staff, great service, and a great breakfast!

Check in was not as easy as one would expect. They make you fill out a check in form with pen and paper and leave your credit card details written down, just seems unsafe and time consuming. This should all be done electronically.

Amazing location. Everything seemed walkable. Beds were cozy. The only real drawback was there was no real windows to look out and in the early morning there was this noise that sounded like pressurized steam blowing off intermittently from 7-9. Tolerable, just a bit annoying.

First and foremost: it’s centrally located : museums and other sites, shops, restaurants are walking distance. Second: rooms are elegant and accommodating. Third: staff is professional, friendly and very accommodating: they kept my luggage so I could travel light on small plane from San Jose to Limon for a few days, so I didn’t have to rent a storage locker. Lastly, breakfast is served fresh, hot and delicious: Five out of five stars!!!!!

This hotel is in a convenient location, close to museums, central market, grocery stores and more. Included breakfast in restaurant in hotel was very good. For us, the only significant downside was our room was very small for two people with two pieces of luggage, backpacks, etc. and there was no window.

Stayed one night when first arriving. Decent hotel nice staff and a good basic small room. The area is very busy with lots of car and pedestrian traffic.
