Industrial/Bauhaus freaks will love this place. A bit of negative energy left over from its previous life, suggest bringing some essential oils, sage, rose water etc to spray yourself and clear the vibes off you. Also the kind of place where people come in screaming really loud at 3AM, so be prepared for that. Overall I get the sense that the staff thinks they are cosplaying a 3rd reich vibe where all the humans are locked down in prison cells and they are only fed 1 piece of bread per day. Japanese hotels are generally super friendly and efficient, but something is kinda off with this place. I can't quite put my finger on it. The design is cool but it has a very anti-human vibe at the same time. They also have a REALLY high end sound system (Mcintosh) with huge speakers, that they never use. I stayed here several times over the winter, and now back for the spring and not once do they ever play music on this epic sound system. I think the owners don't like good vibes? Really confusing. This could be a 10/10 place with just a small bit of "Kaizen" and love. For the money and proximity to the park, it's good value but they need to chill on the "subjugate the humans" vibes a bit.

I had a pleasant stay, so I highly recommend this place for people like me who are not so sensitive to sound! The rooms are clean with a soft and comfortable double bed. The bathroom is also clean and had a room/linen spray for any odors, but there were none when I checked in. Slippers were also provided. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. Check-in went smoothly and because there was no elevator, the receptionist at the time helped me with my luggage. Also, when it started raining, the staff ran outside to lend me an umbrella; they were so thoughtful. Bikes are also available for rent. Breakfast was included, which was a simple spread of shokupan / toast, butter, and your choice of jam with hot coffee, tea, or chocolate. I opted for the hot chocolate. The view is nice, and it’s located near Goryokaku park. The tram is also just nearby, so you can go to the Hakodate morning market as you please. My only observations that could be issues were that there was no elevator so it may not be so accessible to people with disability, senior citizens, and pregnant people; walls were also not soundproof so if you’re sensitive to that just consider it; it was also a lock and key type of door, so if that makes you uncomfortable consider it too. I had no issues with these, but this is just for you to consider. Also, if you’re coming from Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto station with luggage, I recommend alighting at Hakodate station instead of Goryokaku station (there is no elevator here and the platform stops in the middle). Afterwards, just take the tram or a taxi. Overall, I had a very wonderful stay even if it was just one night!

This former department store has been renovated and now has a stylish exposed concrete interior. Although it's been converted into accommodation, the twin rooms are spacious and have sofas. There's a microwave, vending machines, and Wi-Fi. It costs 3,500 yen per person. The value for money and location are excellent. The pillows are low, which is just right. Pajamas are bathrobes. The shower temperature needs to be adjusted each time. There are various shops nearby, including Rokkatei, which is within walking distance. There's also a bus to the airport. If you take the tram, it's Goryokaku Koenmae Station.

It looks like a property that has been renovated into a hotel, with exposed concrete ceilings and floors, and classroom-style chairs, creating a unique space. There is a Secoma store right in front of the building, and within a 3-minute walk there are Lucky Pierrot, Goryokaku, and the bar district, making it very convenient.
