Beautiful, well appointed rooms. Unfortunately the receptionist is clueless about the service industry, behaving more like a boarding school matron, sternly tut-tutting her way as she bustled about telling us off about this or that. She needs to go back to hotel school.
Sadly, the only common area for guests to gather was strictly off limits. She huffed and puffed her way swiftly down to sternly tell us so.
Each coffee capsule is strictly rationed. We were told off for asking for an extra capsule, but it was because they had forgotten to replenish. No apology was given for the stern rebuff either. Instructions (room card) not to clean the rooms was blatantly ignored. When told that her service was bad, her reply was that not everyone was going to like her. And that was that. When told that the heater was not working in one of the rooms, she overbearingly and heatedly repeatedly denied it, only to admit to it much later in the day. The service truly leaves much to be desired.
Granted breakfast is continental but it was the most meagre continental breakfast I’ve had in all my travels! Not worth waiting for the croissants that are only served at 9am. One of us wanted some honey with her croissant. Ooo it was as if she had asked for the forbidden fruit! The croissant was served with butter and jam. Like a prison canteen, you had to simply accept whatever jam she gave you. Better to go for the packed picnic.
Some have had a wonderful experience here. Not us, sadly. We were 8 rooms altogether. And we agree with another reviewer, coping with criticism is not their strong suit 😉 would have been zero stars for service if I could.
