Last long weekend (14-16 Sept) I booked a room at Ndalem Kampoeng twin bed private room for 2 people. For some reason on 13 Sept Traveloka informed me that the room I booked was overbooked and I was asked to relocate to a Pavilion type room (which is not available on the OTT platform) or get a refund. Since the date was tight and it was difficult to find other accommodation, I decided to relocate to the recommended type. Indeed, the Pavilion type has quite a spacious room (there is a kitchen & private toilet as well as 2 empty rooms with tables, chairs & clothes storage). Unfortunately, there are several things that I highlighted during my stay here. When I entered, the room felt less clean, such as the dusty floor, there were several dried gecko droppings in several spots, then the smell of the room felt musty and stuffy (including the mattress). The bathroom has no door, but uses a curtain. The mat provided also looks dirty. Not only that, the fan, especially the air cooler, did not function optimally (it was safe at night because it was cool, but starting in the morning at 7 am it felt very hot). Oh yes, the environment around the inn is close to residents' houses and the entrance is through a small alley that slopes down. That way, it is difficult to find a parking space for cars, while parking for two-wheeled vehicles is available near the inn. The plus point is, access from the inn to Malioboro is very close (400 meters on foot) and close to places to eat & Indomaret. The staff on duty are also friendly and informative. Overall, hopefully in the future the maintenance of facilities and cleanliness can be improved even better. 🙌🏻
