I recently stayed at the Ibis Grand Central Bandung for two nights in August 2025.
Upon arrival, the check-in process was a bit slow. I had to wait for almost 45 minutes because a large family group was ahead of me. However, the receptionist was very attentive; she apologized for the long wait and was very professional. I think it would be helpful if the hotel had a standard for how long check-ins should take, especially when there are multiple guests.
I had booked a queen-sized bed but was initially assigned a room with two joined twin beds. I also noticed there was no sofa, as the room felt quite full. I called housekeeping, and they were quick to grant my request to switch rooms. The new room had a proper queen bed and a comfortable sofa by the window, which I really appreciated.
The room itself was standard. The television was good and offered international channels, but it wasn't a smart TV, so there was no access to apps like YouTube or Netflix. The bathroom, however, was a highlight! The water pressure and hot water were absolutely perfect. Just a heads-up: bring your own shampoo and conditioner, as the hotel only provides liquid soap.
The hotel's location is excellent, right across from Gasibu and Gedung Sate. I highly recommend waking up early to enjoy a walk or a jog in the park before sunrise. Being so close to the city center makes it very easy to get around.
Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel, mainly for the fantastic bathroom and the convenient location that's perfect for a morning stroll.
