Yubune was a fantastic place to rest on our way along the Shimanami Kaidō. The property is so clean you’ll think it was opened yesterday. The staff are super helpful; they not only recommended a fantastic yakitori place for dinner, but walked us there. And the onsen is truly something else - beautiful tiled mural and just an overall fantastic space. It helps that each day the men’s and women’s onsens switch so you can get to experience both. This is all not to mention the beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. Yubune is a must!

I would highly recommend anyone doing the shimanami kaido to stay here! It does make for a longer second day to complete the bike ride as it’s before the official halfway point but the hotel it self it absolutely stunning with the onsen we throughly enjoyed everything about this hotel.

Spa-like with onsen (traditional bath). Clean and spacious. Good location near restaurant and not far from Setoda Sunset Beach.

Lovely small on the Shimanami Kaido bicycle route. Spacious room with Japanese style beds on raised platform and tatami mat sitting area with table and cushions. In-room amenities included electric kettle with tea and coffee supplies, Bose Bluetooth speaker, safe, complimentary water, juice, and beer. Staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. There are onsite baths, but we didn’t use them. The hotel is located on a charming street, just a few steps from the water and right near the ferry port. There were several restaurants but midweek many were closed. We did enjoy dinner at a place specializing in eel tempura which was very good, and there is a cafe a few steps away that makes excellent coffee.

A clean japanese style room with wonderful japanese baths and amenities. Worth the money to come here at midpoint of our bike trip. Would stay here again no question

We stayed at Yubune in the midst of a two day cycling trip and it was a lovely respite. The hotel was spotless and the staff was very helpful and friendly. Also, the rooms was nicely appointed and very comfortable. I would highly recommend!

What an amazing way of making the Shimanimi Kaido Route more enjoyable. Don’t ever doubt it and split your route in two days just to enjoy the place. Amazing rooms (it looks great in photos but the rooms are even better once you are there), BEAUTIFUL facilities and onsen with carefully curated design and really helpful staff.

Awesome facility. Lots of amenities and exceptionally clean. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Staff called Imabari Hotel to check for us if our luggage had arrived.

The Japanese style room was beautiful and immaculate!

We loved the surroundings, with walks along the waterfront and through the neighborhood, and the beautiful scenic Shimanami highway. Very peaceful. Staff was attentive and welcoming.

Nice and quiet, spacious, comfortable and unique room in japanese style. Generous with free entry to the spa and minibar with some lokal beer and juice on the house:) Would have loved to stay more than one night!
