This break was my husband and I’s honeymoon. On arrival, as my husband is disabled due to a stroke, we were able to park in the disabled spaces right by the front door. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist, who, once we were all checked in, offered to help me with our luggage. Our room was clean and spacious with the added bonus of a view right over the loch. The bed was extremely comfortable, although the mattress was firm. Every staff member we came into contact with was friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us. One member of staff in particular, went out of her way to communicate with my husband, who has aphasia. This meant a huge amount to us both. Breakfast was a mixture of self service of the continental options, with the cooked options being served at the table. There was a great choice and the ingredients were high quality. We ate every evening in the restaurant. Again, staff were accommodating by giving us easily accessible tables. We didn’t ask for this, but was done never the less, which we appreciated. Choice on the menu was excellent and arrived piping hot. Each meal we had was delicious and the helpings were generous. This was our first time away since my husbands stroke and The Duck Bay turned out to be an excellent choice. We have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and we will definitely be back.

The room was very clean and tidy and had everything in the room you could ask for. The staff were very helpful and cheerful and also polite. The food was very well presented and brought to the table quickly. Breakfast was really good and they had a very varied selection to choose from.

Comfortable although double bed a bit on the small side.Rooms would benefit from the addition of a safe and extra shelving in bathroom.Seemed a bit strange no additional guests in room after 10pm but can understand if guests are noisy and playing music, maybe been a problem in the past.

The staff in the restaurant go above and beyond and are friendly and welcoming. However the receptionist who "wecomed" us was more interested in telling us what we could not do, having arrived 30 minutes before check in time. We did not ask for any early entry or ask to leave our bags, simply wanted to know where we could go for a drink/coffee until check in time. No such information was offered just reiterated that we could not get in to our room. A less than welcoming welcome.

We stayed in a room with a view of the loch via floor to ceiling windows and a small outside area . It was modern and super light . It could have done with a location to put cases and some coat hooks but on the whole was excellent . The breakfast was also great with staff accommodating swops etc . The toast making machine was a first for me ,in over 20 years of hotel toast machines, it was fast and it actually toasted the bread correctly on the first pass . Advice on which railway station to use to get to the commonwealth games was extremely helpful .Ovarall a great stay .

Excellent hotel in fantastic location on Loch. Bedroom was good size and nicely decorated and designed, clean and with tea/coffee maker. Bathroom was modern with a large shower cabinet with rain forest shower. The room we had had a seating area outside and a shared terrace looking over the Loch. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice hot breakfast served to your table.

We visited and stayed in an executive room ie Room 3 from 18 th to 21st July 26 for our wedding anniversary We got conflicting communication from staff both by telephone prior to booking and in person at reception desk . We paid a fair amount of money for our stay and were under the impression we had some privacy on the terrace There is absolutely NO privacy with this room ..if you want privacy DO NOT book this room A guest from room 4 walked past us and nearly walked into our room and when I said excuse me she answered ..she just wanted to see what the room was like Also a guest from room 5 kept walking past us to smoke at the glass panel overlooking the loch when there is an area designated for this at front of hotel Reception staff said we had privacy then another member of staff stated it was shared by numerous rooms which is certainly not ideal Reception staff offered an apology As well as this it was very noisy to sit out ..members of the public throwing food waste over the wall into courtyard Language loud and very colourful/rude Going out a walk you couldn’t walk along pavement as people everywhere , rubbish left everywhere over the grass , around where our car was parked outside hotel the full place is a riot Certainly not the quiet few days we had envisaged Poor council workers having to clear others peoples mess was just disgusting What is our country coming to ?? So I’m afraid all in all I certainly won’t ever return , especially NOT to Duck Bay

My wife and I booked our honeymoon for a couple of days at the beautiful Duck Bay Hotel. It honestly was one of the nicest hotels we’ve ever stayed at. We booked a Suite and got room 1 overlooking the incredibly scenic waterfront of Loch Lomond. As soon as we walked through the door, the view made us speechless, you really just have to experience it! We didn’t want to leave the room, it was so fun staying in bed looking out the window at all the swimmers, paddleboarders, boats, and jet skis riding up and down the loch! The double bed was huge, very wide, comfy and not just two single beds attached together (which annoys us at other hotels!). Dinner at the restaurant was brilliant too! My wife had the highland wagyu burger and I had the fillet steak, very tasty. For dessert we had the panna cotta and I had the cookie dough skillet with biscoff icecream (you need to try this, it was so good I ordered another one the next night!). Service with a smile, speedy, chatty, they made the dinner a great experience. After dinner we relaxed in the Duck Bay Marina and had drinks outside in the sun next to the water. We ended the night taking some pictures on the pier where you feel like you’re swimming in Loch Lomond. We had an absolutely amazing time at the Duck Bay Hotel and are actually planning another trip for next year… we’re just hoping room 1 is available again!! 😂
