Rooms were sufficient. Nice bathtub. Strong and warm shower. Beds were comfy but pillows too soft for my liking. Balcony was nice. But 2 most important points. First, the owner Marianne was a perfect host. Very helpful, accomodating, friendly and approachable. She made the stay into a 5-star holiday. Second, the buffet breakfast provided was very homely. Small set up but you have breads, spreads, cheeses, cold cuts, eggs, ham, mushrooms, hot drinks, juices, cereals, fruits. Didnt expect the breakfast spread to be so comprehensive. Shows how thoughtful the hotel is towards its guests!

Excellent location for everything - pubs, restaurants, clubs even ski slopes are not too far away - easy bus ride to either Gornergrat Bahn or the Matterhorn Express. The staff are very friendly. I would go back. I loved the jacuzzi in our room.

Rooms were nice. Located conveniently near the main street. Free shuttle from the train station to the hotel was a godsend, since we had luggage. Elevator was old and scary, can only carry 2 people at a time.

We enjoyed our stay at hotel elite zermat. The bathroom was big and the breakfast was sufficient. We got a little worried that we were going to miss our train because we left our luggage after the checkout but there was no front desk when we were about to get back our luggage. Good thing, there was a number we could call to help us with our luggages

Had a nice stay the room was great but the place is a bit old and rough around the edges. Enjoyed a delicious breakfast which was included so that was a big plus. However the pillows were terrible like a piece of cardboard with a sheet over it.

I only stayed 1 night but I was very happy at the price I paid. The hotel is in a great location only 10 minutes walk from the station and right in the centre of the village. My single room was very basic but nice and clean and the continental buffet breakfast was sufficient. Staff were friendly and the WIFI was excellent but the highlight was looking up at the Matterhorn from my window and balcony.

Although this hotel was great with a good location - easily within walking distance of the town and the Gongergrat train - the staff ruined our experience. When we first checked in the lady behind the counter couldn't find our reservation and was faffing around with the paperwork so much that check in took a very long time. We then paid the city tax and she gave us our key and she told us she would find our paperwork later. She did not give us a receipt for the city tax as she was in such a faf that she couldn't find our paper reservation. Then as we were checking out a different woman made us pay the city tax again saying that because we didn't have a receipt we obviously hadn't paid it. The woman we spoke with at check out was incredibly rude and unhelpful, and was the same woman that the night before we had asked if it was possible to have extra pillows and even though we said we were happy to wait for them - she very rudely said no and that she had to bring them up. She never brought them and they never arrived even after we asked again. The hotel was nice though and we had a good view of the matterhorn from our room, however I wouldn't stay here again as the staff and the city tax issue left a bitter taste in our mouth.

The hotel is quite near the train station but can feel like a bit of a walk of you have heavy luggage. The bathroom is huge, spacious and clean. There was also a nice balcony to with a lovely view of the village. The room was comfortable and adequate. The breakfast was good and the staff was hospitable and helpful. They provided a kettle for us to boil water in the bedroom. If we go back, will stay at least 2 nights as the Zermatt village is really nice to walk around and explore.

Close to train station. No hills to walk up. Staff was knowledgeable about Matterhorn options. Typical small European shower and breakfast items. Very nice room with partial view and balcony. Great walkability to many restaurants and shops. No cars in Zermatt but watch out for the hotel taxies.
