Staff friendly and helpful...good places to walk out to

Hotel is very clean, reasonably priced and the breakfast is good. Handy for the town centre and the historic walls for a walk. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Stayed a few times now for work and always look to stay here when working in the area.

On the whole good stay. But…I believed there was free parking but I had to pay for parking at railway station opposite. And I believed I had already booked and paid for my dog but on arrival was told I owed extra. I booked through Expedia and was told by the staff at hotel that it was Expedia’s fault as they don’t take payment for dogs prior to the stay. The breakfast was only continental which isn’t made clear when booking.

Super choice of hotel as it is near the station, so it easy to get to & from. It is also located a bit away from the main shopping area, so quieter than if nearer the town. The staff too were very friendly & helpful.

Food was good

We stayed for 3 nights. The first night we were in room 14, which had a noisy extra fan outside our window. We complained and were move to the best room in the hotel. which gave us 2 splendid nights sleep/

This would have been a 4 if it were not for the first night being in an airless cell-like single room. The double room was exponentially better. The b&b breakfast was a continental and the pastries and coffee were ordinary. On the plus side the staff were very helpful and the location excellent for the railway station and buses.

The staff were 100and 50 percent absolutely fantastic. Nothing was a problem. I had Visa trouble and they could not do enough for me.

Good location. Comfortable even though small with all the services, ie tea coffee fan tv nice touch small radio playing when entering. Hair dryer, shampoo etc. good sleep as very comfortable bed.

Good- friendly staff and clean Bad- posting on hotels.com is misleading. They don't have free parking. Free parking on the street might be avaible. Crowded pay and display carpark nearby. They say breakfast is free and have a picture of a full English breakfast in their listing. But hot food is extra. There was a DJ in the bar on Saturday night. Volume was absurd. Had trouble sleeping.

The hotel is very well staffed and very well situated for public transport. Because I have orthopedic challenges, I found the lack of a lift to be disappointing, but that has more to do with me than with the hotel.

The hotel was kept clean to a very high standard and all staff we met were exceptionally polite and helpful.

We had a lovely few days staying here. The staff were friendly, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. A couple of things to note that aren't made clear in the listing: there is a £20 charge per dog, and while it says breakfast is included, this only refers to a continental breakfast—not a full cooked breakfast as the images might suggest. That said, the continental breakfast was okay, offering a good selection of pastries, cereals, fruit, yoghurt, and toast.

First of all, the staff were all hreat. The hotel room was an overpriced fire trap and very basic. The hotel was locked up and dark, bar closed too!, at 9:45 on a Saturday. Both mornings at breakfast, the first voffee cup i picked up hadn't been washed properly. I would not stay there again!
