Great hotel with parking, excellent breakfast options, friendly staff and has great conservatory for rainy days with a bottle of wine.

We had a fantastic 3-night stay in 'superior' room 7. The welcome was super-friendly and the breakfast excellent. Brilliant location with good parking. Our room was large, charming and had a lovely green view. The breakfast room had a lovely ambience. The four-poster bed was comfy and the bedding great quality.

Great break but bathroom only had cupboard doors on which was weird

Great location and parking is a big bonus. Staff were friendly, attentive and helpful. Very good breakfast.

My wife and I went to Ambleside for 3 days. We would normally never stay in a Guest House (prefer a pub/hotel) but opted for Rothay Garth. We were pleasantly surprised. We enjoyed our stay and the whole breakfast situation was great.Full English on order, plus extra options and friendly, helpful staff. We selected the cosy room as we were on a budget. It was totally adequate, but next time we go, we'll book a larger room.

Breakfast was very tasty and a nice wide window of 8am-10:15am which was great when on holiday. Great location walking distance to everything.

Nice b and b and good value. Staff were pleasant and the breakfast was nice also. I would recommend the salmon and scrambled egg on sourdough if you like that.

We were checked in to a small but perfectly formed double with a spacious ensuite. The room was pristine with lovely original features and sash windows, great to leave open during the hot bank holiday. Breakfast was plentiful with lovely options, full English, smoked salmon, scrambled egg, eggs benediction a really wonderful choice.
