Staff were super friendly and welcoming, the whole place is beautifully presented and the rooms were clean. Food was great too!

Room was extremely well laid, spotlessly clean and the bathroom was modern and bright and the shower was excellent. The bed was comfortable as were the pillows that are often an issue for me. We were made very welcome would thoroughly recommend the George.

Room was lovely; my loved the wallpaper. Great breakfast and the restaurant served really good food. Easy parking in the centre of town and the staff were brilliant.

The warmest welcome, a spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished and decorated room, the food in the evening was exquisite, every staff member I spoke to was fantastic, the bar and lounge areas are super comfortable, and the breakfast clearly was made from top quality ingredients. Seriously I could not fault the place, superb all round.

Really nice hotel; friendly and welcoming

The staff were super lovely, food was great and the vibe of the hotel was so cosy! The room was a great size and well furnished. The bed was very very firm. Not the most wonderful nights sleep because of that and how much you can hear your neighbours. The bathroom was also a little unclean, not enough to warrant complaining but it felt like a few things were missed. I would absolutely go back again for food and drinks.

The room was really really nice. We stayed in the room with the round stain glass Window, which was really beautiful. We’d travelled to the area to go to Chatsworth house for the Christmas market et cetera, which was great. Staff in the hotel were pretty friendly, more so in the restaurant than at the desk. The room was lovely although I would say that they need to change the carpet around the tub in the room as there were lots of water stains around it which spoilt the feeling of luxury slightly.

Wonderful hotel - had a lovely break before Christmas. Room beautifully decorated, delicious breakfast, excellent bars and restaurant and friendly staff. Will definitely stay again!

Perfect stay at the George. Beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming with very attentive staff. Our room was spacious and very comfortable and although it was at the front the traffic was not a problem. We had both breakfast and dinner for two nights and were not disappointed, plenty of choice and all beautifully cooked. All in all an excellent stay at a reasonable price. We would definitely stay again and highly recommend.

Amazing staff. Very friendly and attentive. Lovely menu. We ate there most of the time. Rooms were clean and comfortable. A fantastic stay.
