We loved our stay at West Coast Suites at UBC. It is nestled among some trees on the UBC campus, has 24/7 desk staff, and importantly, two coffee shops within walking distance. The hotel lobby has a nice open seating area if you need to meet someone. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable and we loved having a mini kitchen. The only thing that was a little odd was the sounds that the AC makes - it sounds a little like sea monsters are coming through the walls while it's on, but if you sleep with earplugs or don't mind the burbling and whooshing, then you'll be fine (we were). The campus bus hub is also a 3 minute walk from the hotel, which allows you to get anywhere in Vancouver easily and inexpensively. You can just use your phone or chip on your regular card to use the bus, no need to calculate fares or carry change. It is about a 40 minute bus ride from downtown Van, but the buses are clean and run on time. Uber is another good option and they are plentiful. All in all, we were happy to have stayed there and will likely do so again.

Highly recommend the west coast suites! Great sitting area to visit and well equipped kitchen for small meals! Beds, including the pull out couch were super comfortable!

Good experience overall

Great place to stay when visiting our kiddo at UBC. Quiet, clean and comfortable. The rooms could use better bedding ie a comforter or duvet type cover (rather than just sheet material) but that’s really it.

Lots of parking for guests and the parking spaces are wide enough which was a huge relief for our stressed out driver lol. The suite was lovely and my pull out bed was already fully prepared because they knew that we were a group of three. Food was conveniently nearby as were walking trails and beaches. The campus itself is beautiful.

it took a very long time to check-in. The access to the room was very unclear and confusing. There was no wifi access. Not a good experience. Not recommended.

Great room. Easy check in and check out. Super helpful staff. Kitchen well stocked. Helped to make my stay easy and fun.

Ventilation poor. Room smelled musty. No insect screens on windows and patio door so opening them was not a permanent option. Heating and cooling using splits was not great.

The building is old but the room has bern well redone. Everything was new and clean. Mattress was harder than I would like.
