Historical and beautiful.

A very nice hotel writhing a 4 minute walk to a nice shopping and restaurant area and 6 minutes to the River Main waterfront.

Excellent staff very professional. Enjoyed very much the the winne tasting with Mr Johanes, co owner.

The overall hotel looks great! However the room given must have been an older one as it looked nothing like the images that had incited me to book 2 rooms for. Business trip. Actually smelt old. Bathroom though had been modernised with a wet room and was great. Staff were excellent. Didn't have a steam iron! Just dry irons which meant I had to wet a towel to dampen the clothing before ironing taking double the time.

Excellent family run hotel. Extremely friendly. Restaurant food is superb and would highly recommend the 6 course meal.

What a wonderfully friendly experience. Hotel Anker is a classy family run hotel with a wonderful restaurant as well. I was made to feel so welcome, even though I arrived a bit early. The room was lovely and modern despite the old world charm of the building itself. Just ten mins drive from the outlet mall and half an hour from Wurzburg, the hotel is located right on the middle of a quaint small town for a real authentic German experience. I loved it

A hotel that is just perfect. It is family owned and its service level, room quality, food and wine is indicative of the care applied by the current generation of the family. There are cheaper alternatives but few that will come close to a stay at the Anker.

Clean, big and comfortable rooms. It was fun strolling the main street and the relaxing river banks nearby. For extra 6 euro per person you get a good breakfast. Road 3 is just 5 minutes away and there is a pretty good outlet just 15 minutes away. Overall, great place for a one night stop while traveling in Germany.

We stayed here for one night. Nice courtyard. Room was clean but mattress was a bit too soft for me. Staff was very kind and helpful. Overall a pleasant stay. Would recommend this hotel.

During our 2-week trip, we stayed on a (river) cruise ship and in 4 different hotels. This was our favorite accommodation. The hotel staff were friendly and patient with our limited German-language skills. The rooms were very comfortable (if a bit dated in decor). The breakfast was delicious and filling.

Only a one night stay but the room was clean and comfortable. In the immediate area this is one of the better hotels.

Ask about the restaurant (it is down the walkway and across the street). Great service and truly exceptional food. Great room size we used for repacking before flying back home.

No air conditioning

Hotel Anker is a lovely hotel situated in the historic part of Marktheidenfeld. The interiors are nicely decorated with memorabilia from the family who owns and runs the hotel. The people are friendly and helpful, while the rooms are clean, large, and well-equipped.

Decent hotel, very clean, great staff. The hotel is very outdated, and needs to be brought into 2014. The bathroom is updated, and there is updated bedding on the beds. The mini bar is stocked with good priced items. Breakfast is basic, but provides a good start for the day, and it's only 6€.

We stayed here one night following our visit to Wurzburg. It is, quite simply, an exemplary hotel in every respect.

I already have Stayed there Twice and will definitely stay there again... It's clean, cozy and the staff deserves a medal.. The internet works just fine and the breakfast is very good as well.. Finally, an excellent choice for all perposes..

Stayed here twice while passing through the area over Easter. The photos do not do it justice as it has a lot more character and classic features. The hotel was clean, the private garage for the car was very useful and the rooms were spacious.

I arrived late because the weather was horrible. Fog you could have cut with a knife. The room was nice and warm and has just about everything you could want except for an iron ... but you can get one sent to your room. They even had a couple of bandaids pinned to a cushion in the closet along with a couple of buttons and threaded needles. The hotel's restaurant is separate from the hotel itself. The food was superb.
