Fantastic welcome from Jenny as you arrive ay Casa Amarilla Throughout your stay she can be relied upon to ensure you have a great experience of her home and Quito Her charming home is very comfortable with the benefit of a secluded outside garden area. The location is reasonable for access to Quto old town and the newer area where there are many restaurants There is also a Chinese restaurant a very short walk away. Jenny is keen to offer her knowledge of places not to be missed in the city and surrounding area She will call a taxi or arrange a guide and driver with ease....all you have to do is sit back and enjoy your stay. Like many others we returned to stay at Casa Amarilla three times during our month in Ecuador.

I had a somewhat pleasant experience at La Casa Amarilla. The one thing that bothered me once I got ready to settle my bill was the price. On Hotels.com the rate was $67.00 per including taxes with a 10 day total of $675.86 including taxes. This is the amount on Hotels.com. Well Jenny proceeded to tell me the price was $75.00 per night, go figure. There were other amenities listed that were not available. The bed was hard as a rock! Other than the low balling and hard bed the stay was ok! If you decide to stay be prepared to pay more once it's time to check out! I also left a day early and still had to pay for an additional night!

We were attracted to La Casa Amarilla by the funky decor and excellent reports about the owner Jenny Chavez. We could not have chosen a better place. It was warm, safe, comfortable and extremely interesting. Jenny went out of her way to provide maps of the city and made sure we were always well looked after. When we had a bit of a medical hiccup, she was there at the hospital to pick us up and return us safely to her abode. We can not speak highly enough of Jenny and her hospitality-it is the best!

Jenny, David and Patricio are tops when it comes to accommodating their guests. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with modern plumbing and HOT water. Surrounded by a walled courtyard full of lush planting, Casa Amarilla is just plain memorable.

Jenny, the B&B owner, was literally like our mum from Ecuador. Not only that she catered for all of our needs, she even gave us free ballet tickets. Jenny is the warmest and loveliest owner we have met in Ecuador and her house is just delightful, she has put a lot of soul into decorating it and creating a cozy atmosphere. Rooms were spotless and very comfy. Location is good, 10 minutes by taxi from main sites. Cab drivers have a bit of a problem finding the place, so write down the address. Will definitely come back!

I enjoyed the stay. Jenny was a great hostess and made everyone feel at home and like one of the family calling everyone of her guests her "little ones" in Spanish. When I got a bit of altitude sickness, she made me a thermos of oregano tea with lemon and sugar two days in a row - supposedly a remedy for the sickness, and kept making sure that I was drinking it all day. Whatever the medicinal value, it was tasty and excellent. The one suggestion I would have is to put up banisters on the stairs. It would certainly be safer for someone somewhat unsteady with age, altitude sickness, or a bit too much wine! Great and enjoyable place overall.

What a lovely home away from home. Jenny and Sophia were absolutely wonderful hosts!! They helped plan our vacation/trips with wise advice and the B&B was an oaisis of peace in Quito. Within walking distance of the main park and entertainment district and a local bakery up the hill. Too bad it was cloudy because one could walk to the Funiclair that goes up the mountain from the Casa Amarilla.! A must for anyone wanting to connect with local residents in Quito.

The Casa Amarilla (Yellow House) is surrounded by a wall of the same color, topped by a profusely flowering hedge. You enter through a locked gate into a beautiful garden area. As you enter the main door, you are warmly greeted by the owner Jenny. Downstairs a living room (with cable TV), dining room (with tea and water constantly available), and reading room are for guests' use. Each bedroom has ensuite bathroom with modern fixtures. Beds are comfortable. Our room was on the second floor with windows overlooking the city, cathedral spires, and la Virgen atop Panecillo hill. Breadfasts are good: coffee, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit and freshly squeezed juice. The best thing about staying at the Casa Amarilla is the personal attention Jenny gives her guests. She arranged transport from the new airport, gave travel advice, arranged tours, booked hotels in Banos and Cuenca for us, even found us a last minute Galapagos tour. Jenny also let us leave luggage with her as we travel around the country less encumbered. The Casa Amarilla is not in an area suitable for walking, but a short taxi ride brings you to all the interesting parts of the city. If you are looking for an impersonal five star hotel, this is not the place for you. But if you hope your travels will afford opportunity to meet the people, make friends, and have an authentic experience of place, consider the Casa Amarilla.

This place is beyond wonderful! The owner (Jenny) is the coolest person in all of Ecuador. She routinely goes above and beyond the role of hostess to help out her guests. She even helped us when we weren't staying there! I just can't say enough how warm and friendly and wonderful she is. Without her help, we would have been in serious trouble a couple of times! The house is BEAUTIFUL and welcoming, filled with bright colors and cool art. It feels wonderfully safe and is EXCEPTIONALLY clean. Hands down the cleanest place we stayed in Ecuador (6 weeks traveling!) Staying here is just like being at home, but with better relatives! To anyone considering this place, STAY HERE! You will NOT be disappointed. :) A tip on getting here... This is not a big name hotel and so some taxi drivers do not know where this place is. Get the address and the cross streets from Jenny (via email) before you go, it will make your taxi ride smoother!

Jenny, the owner, is absolutely lovely and we wish we had more time here! She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed, even driving us to dinner when we arrived. The house itself was beautiful and breakfast was great. It was really nice to just be able to sit and talk to the other guests as well.

The guest house is in a residential area. The nearest restaurant, 3 blocks away, was a fast food place in a supermarket. Jenny, the owner, was gracious and tried to be helpful however during our stay, she was totally preoccupied literally putting furniture together to set up a room for waiting guests. Her timing was bad! Rooms were cute but so small. There was no place to put any of our belongings.

The owner of Casa Amarilla was extremely helpful and a joy to be around. She has created a place of refuge for a traveler that makes you feel like you are at home, yet she isn't intrusive or pushy. The room we had (a double on the first floor) was large, tastefully decorated and comfortable.. The bathroom was a nice size and well appointed. They furnish shampoo, conditioner, and bath gel in a dispenser in the shower - very ecological aware. Jenny will serve you breakfast no matter how early you have to leave to catch a plane. When we arrived at the B&B around midnight, she greeted us at the door and offered us a nice cup of tea. I will definitely stay here again when I return to Quito.

This hotel picked me up in the wee hours of the morning, after waiting two hours for me to go through customs. It's manager, Jenny, was up to greet me. The place was a ways from the airport and not exactly located in a neighborhood that would interest a tourist. My room had a lovely view but it was terribly noisy because of traffic. The hotel is also over priced when compared with others similar to it. But Jenny was great, spending an innordinate amount of time helping me. I'm convinced that she is just as helpful with all of her customers.

Jenny is a special host at La Casa Amarilla. She made me and another guest especially welcome and helped us prepare to travel in Ecuador by assisting us to connect with telephone services. Jenny is always will to drop what she is doing to help guests catch a taxi or find what they need in the area. Staying at La Casa Amarilla is a special experience. La Casa Amarilla is very cute too, decorated in Jenny's delightful style.
