When entering Astor you feel the winds of history in the always so civilized city of Vaasa. The interior has old charm but is recently refurbished and is very fresh. The bathrooms are on the brink of being luxurious in this hotel category. Parking EUR 5,00/24h some 150m away in a garage. Very friendly staff, breakfast good and everything very fresh. Can warmly recommend this hotel. Local restaurant recommendation: Restaurant HEIM down by the waterfront.

Nice place and great location close to the city center

Amazing stay. Room was beautifully done and very spacious. We were surprised to find a sauna in our room and enjoyed it. Service was friendly. Breakfast included everything we could have wanted and more, and we are vegans. They also had bikes to rent and we enjoyed those. Thanks for a great stay!

Location is very good, nearby the railway station and city center. Service is very good and everyone is so helpfull. Hotel is in the old building and inside is beautiful, old decor. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommended.

Classic looks and wonderful brunch made this an enjoyable Finnish stayover. I would highly recommend this hotel to all travelers looking to get an old-timey European experience with modern trappings. Also, an in-room sauna never hurts.

Locals suggested we stay at one of the big new hotels but I read the reviews and opted for the Astor. It was quiet, well run and convenient to the station, shopping and post office. Breakfast was excellent, including waffles. Although the furniture was not in the modern style there was plenty of clothes storage and two armchairs. The bathroom was large with room for two people's wash kits. However the shower stall had a curtain that did not contain the water adequately so the floor got wet.

Beautiful little quiet town. Very closed up on Sunday.
