Lovely room looking out over the beach and a very nice restaurant

We had a lovely stay in October 2025, weather was kind to us and we enjoyed sea swims, seafront walks and eating at the hotel where the food was excellent.

It was a lovely weekend. Thierry made it much better as well. We will definitely stay again! Next time we hope to meet Fabrice as well!

Room for 3 people a bit small, but clean and cosy and equipped with courtesy tray with tee and coffee. Staff really friendly and helpful.

Staff really friendly and helpful. Hotel had a lovely restaurants outside and it is within walking distance or you can cycle. (35min walk along the promenade to the fort walls) buses and taxi near by. Has parking and also amazing location for beach activities. Would stay again. St Malo has something for everyone. Rooms small but to be expected with this type of building. More than big enough and with lovely en-suite and fan for warmer months.

I had a lovely, relaxing stay at Les Charmettes last week. Walkable to the main town (Intra-Muros) with great opportunity to watch the ocean and beachside from the convenient restaurant. Highly recommend!

A great place in St Malo - thoroughly recommend. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Amazing sea views from restaurant. Great food. And half hour walk along beachfront to old walled city!

An attractive small ‘slightly quirky” traditional hotel,- so much better than the modern sanitised hotel chains.Location excellent, overlooking the sea, yet close for the ferry and for the “old” town. It was the staff however who were the stars! Lucie at Reception was delightful and most professional, whilst in the Dining Room Eliza was simply sensational. Her bubbly personality and excellent service made our final night in France one to remember.

Unique fun privately owned hotel with parking availability with local hot spot restaurant all right on StMalo beach a 20 minute walk to the city with fabulous shopping more eating (!) and the UK ferry. .

It was very convenient hotel to stay in. Two steps from the beach, parking included, the breakfast was good, the view of the beach from the restaurant was to die for

Les Charmettes was a treasure to find. Located on the waterfront/promenade with superb views and immediate access to a superb beach. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast (an extra charge but well worth it) was delightful. There is a small fee for parking on site but highly recommended. There is a bistro attached to the property and we had a very pleasant meal and had aperitifs overlooking the beach. We walked downtown to St. Malo proper for dinner one night…. About 20 minutes each way which allowed us to absorb the flavor of the area/town without having to stay in town. I highly recommend and will definitely return.

Our stay at Hotel Les Charmettes was fabulous! It's right on the beach, the rooms are clean and well decorated (love all the great design features throughout the property), staff is super friendly and eager to give you all the recommendations to make your trip a success. The shops close by are very convenient (love the bakery across the City Carrefour). The walk from the hotel to downtown Saint-Malo was very memorable! Great stay in a very charming city!

My favorite hotel during our trip to Brittany and Normandy. Very polite staff, excellent food at the on-site restaurant.

Rooms small but fully furnished.Lovely views, breakfast average, good restaurant on site.

Great location with a friendly bar/restaurant just outside, by the sea. Excellent yet simple breakfast with local products. Only complaint: top floor rooms (#7) is *not* for adults over 6 feet, like me. Beams on each side of the window are a killer in the dark.

Property is in a fabulous location right on the beach. Rooms are clean, newly renovated and the whole property is quirky, full of great design features (art, wallpaper, lights etc.) and the restaurant, bar and breakfast are great.
