Quirky and typically old-English. Whist the room was small, it was quiet and very comfortable. The staff, especially the dining room waitresses, were friendly and suitably attentive. We enjoyed our meals and the location suited us very well.

The room was very nice, and the staff were friendly and super helpful. Unfortunately our room was on the top floor on a very hot day- there are not many windows, and they don't open very much so it was very warm with virtually no air circulation. The fan provided helped a little bit, but unfortunately it was an uncomfortable night. Again, not the properties fault, but if you have a room facing the road it is very noisy (particularly with the windows open if it is hot)- I used ear plugs which helped but there was still a lot of noise from the busy road.

The hotel/pub was really good. The rooms do get warm when the weather is warm, but other than that it's a lovely place to stay

Staff were very friendly. Property is a tired but still comfortable, good bar and restaurant areas, and the staff try hard. No Air-con. Free parking

We did enjoy our stay at the Cromwell. The staff were all lovely, the rooms are clean, however they are a bit dated and need a bit of TLC. We chose this place as it is not far from Upton Hall and just of the M40. Unfortunately the rain meant we didn't get chance to have a look round the area.

The service we received was first class, we asked for a change of room due to personal reasons in the evening and was given one straight away on the front, it was a hot night so had windows open, it was noisy but you expect that as on a main road and was nice to wake up with the sun in the room.

Sink wouldn’t go down in room. Didn’t receive water for my room after the first night. Restaurant hours and breakfast was confusing. Very nice staff and place.

Cromwell Lodge was good value, especially over Christmas. Staff were friendly and efficient and the room was comfortable if quite dated. The whole hotel needs a bit of a refurb, but it could be absolutely wonderful.

It was just an average stay. The car park needs to be signposted as couldnt find it had to pull up outside and ask for directions. Spacious room but dated and in need of an upgrade. My room was at the front so very noisey with traffic throught the night even with the window shut and a sort of other glazing but dudnt close properly. The street lights coming through the side of the curtains. Single glaze in the bathroom and a cream blind so light comes through that too and shines under the door and the landing light on all night which resulted in light coming through. Walls very thun as could here the person next door when in the bathroom and in the shower and also on the phone.

This is a lovely hotel. It’s retained its old world charm & has resisted over-modernising. The staff were super friendly & helpful. Breakfast outstanding. Nice atmosphere in the bar. Really comfy bed & room equipped with everything you need. We’ve already booked a return visit!
