This hotel is in a very old Tudor style building with heaps of charm and quirkiness. This is a popular and busy pub/restaurant/hotel. Our room was on the top floor with access by stairs with high risers. The double bedroom was small with only one bedside table and no cupboards and only one stool so it is best suited to a one night stay. The room was clean and tidy with again the charm of an uneven floor which is not a problem just be aware. As the room is close to the roof it can get very warm as there is no through breeze and there is no air con or fans. The staff are friendly and efficient. The cooked breakfast was good although no fresh fruit and the serving staff looked very tired.

Enjoyed stay here. Very old building (1585), but good amenities.

Gorgeous old building with sloping corridors and lost of character. Lovely comfy bed and the 11am check out was such a welcome change.

Clean room. The floors are sloping due to the age of the building. I had a meal in the restaurant which was very nice and as a resident offered a free drink or 15% off the bill.

I really do like this place and I’ve stayed several times, the service is always good. It is somewhat of a lottery if you get comfortable room or one that could do with a spruce up in the comfort and shower amenities area.

Very quirky and wonky floors and doors old hotel so I suppose to be expected. Good service staff were friendly and the breakfast was excellent. Great central location.

Lovely old hotel with character, friendly helpful staff, great bar with good selection of well priced real ale. Restaurant was very good.

Quaint very old with little door ways,uneven floors etc which is great..good bar and food etc right in middle of town.plus free parking at rear. Comfy bed, walls paper thin can literally here everything plus our room had no heating working and noise from nightclub emptying and walking past 4am.
