Unbelievably bad experience, upon arrival to rooms as I had booked three, room one on second floor stunk of cigarettes, room two on 1st floor sink tap turned on but no water, bed uncomfortable, squeaked, unstable awful room three also on first floor…… broken chair in room, stained lamp shade next to bed, desk lamp had excessive wiring wrapped around lamp then plugged to socket which is dangerous. Two hand prints on wall above a stain in the carpet, toilet wouldn’t flush properly, shower in bath that didn’t empty, bath was still half full 40 minutes after taking a Luke warm shower. All rooms stained walls, carpets, blown plaster and all smelt terrible in different ways. Tv was behind shelf so couldn’t see from one side of bed, signal on tv was terrible not watchable. Hmm breakfast was interesting as only one coffee espresso machine for all guests, and a flask of hot water for tea etc, with a handful of croissants available prewrapped not fresh but processed pastries. plus old shrivelled oranges and some bananas, each room cost £92.00 which is an absolute joke, didn’t bother complaining to the young lad on reception as was already told at check-in hotel was full so wouldn’t get moved anywhere….. I’ve stayed in many hotels across the uk from £49-£300 and this was worse than my garden shed tbh. I’m in the process of contacting the hotel direct for a refund with all the pictures of my concerns.

We paid £140 for what was advertised as a garden view room. In reality, the “garden” is just the public park in front of the hotel, surrounded by busy main roads. This was misleading, and I would not have booked at this price had I known. The parking listed in the amenities is also inaccurate. The only options are a 4‑hour pay‑and‑display on the roadside, or the multi‑storey car park about a 20‑minute walk away. Again, not what you expect for a hotel at this price point. The room itself was clean, but the curtain was half hanging off the rail and too high for us to fix. The TV was extremely small and dated, as was the hairdryer. On the morning we checked out, the entire building had to be evacuated because a hairdryer overheated and set off the smoke alarms. The shower wasn’t even lukewarm, making it impossible to use properly. We reported this, but nothing was done. Before our stay, I emailed the hotel with a question and never received a reply. During our visit, the reception staff were not professionally approachable and were speaking loudly about other guests, which felt very inappropriate. Overall, I do not recommend staying here for this price. There are Travelodge and Premier Inn nearby that offer far better value and a more reliable experience.

The interiors were old and tired but clean and worked perfectly well - especially the shower which was excellent. The staff was very friendly and the location good. Breakfast was very poor - a selection of long life, cellophane wrapped croissants, some withered apples, bananas and oranges or a yogurt (+wooden spoon). Would stay again but plan to go out for breakfast.

Room was clean and tidy, our room overlooked the sea which was amazing, no restaurant which was disappointing, no sure about breakfast as we left early 06:00, the TV in the the was poor to small, had to park at a multi-storey car park as there wasn’t any parking, but it was only down the road and reasonable priced.

Room was fairly clean and serviced (when requested, e.g. top up of teas/coffees/milk/ biscuits). Staff courteous and helpful when asked questions. Breakfast was very basic, but ok. Parking nearby restricted and CV could be difficult.

Cheap enough to not worry about the cost. A one night stop over was enough. Large room Bed mattresses not good. No support or comfort. Pillows the same. TV service was bad. Average bathroom Free breakfast was a few packet bought croissants n buns. Coffee terrible Great location

Room 363 avoid as mattress is ready for tip, so thin, feel springs before sitting on & springs axactly creak & moan. Awful. Good size family room. Next day moved to room 228, much better mattress but needs an electric fan as room a lot smaller. Shower tap did not work but was sorted next day. Water was nice & hot. Was my favourite family hotel for many years but even after Covid, it has sadly not been maintained up to its once glory. The large sitting room is excellent for meeting up with friends, but no large screen T.V so no incentive to stay downstairs in hotel. Dining room.is black & bleak. Some cheap bud vases with artificial flowers in would be cheap but more cheerful. The Hot water in flasks is very hard to push down, so off putting. Continental breakfast was good. This Hotel needs some Love & care putting back into it but unfortunately we will not be using again.

Location can’t be beaten, larger room sizes than most newer hotels. Didn’t stay for breakfast. Never knew it had a pool?!?

Beautiful hotel, extremely professional, helpful and friendly staff. Absolutely loved our room with the sea view. The hotel does need a little TLC and the breakfast was underwhelming but we will definitely be visiting again as overall we loved the hotel.

Looks lovely from outside, but displays signs of ageing. Decor needs refreshing and fixtures (especially bathroom need upgrading, e.g. plumbing). Room was quite airless, even with the window open. Free continental breakfast was accurately priced! Best aspect was its location; near the seafront and only a short walk from bars and restaurants.

The breakfast was terrible. We were told on arrival that a continental breakfast was only available. If a European guest was offered this meal, they would have truly insulted as we were .when we used this hotel last year, we had a full English breakfast which was very good. The food standards now are appalling.
