Beautiful setting in a lovely hotel. The staff is very helpful and speaks excellent English. The breakfast buffet was delish and offered a wide variety of foods. We took a Tuk Tuk tour around Bayeux that was very informative and a great way to get an overview of this beautiful, medieval city!

We absolutely recommend staying here if you’re visiting Normandy. Don’t come to Bayeux just for the D-Day beaches and the American Cemetery—make this hotel your base for exploring the region. The location is perfect, with easy access to all the major historic sites, while also being just minutes from the heart of Bayeux. The city itself is a destination worth experiencing, with charming medieval streets, wonderful shops, and plenty of excellent restaurants. One of the highlights is the magnificent Notre-Dame Cathedral of Bayeux, whose origins predate Notre-Dame de Paris by nearly a century. It’s an incredible piece of history and well worth visiting. This hotel made the perfect home base for our stay. Comfortable, conveniently located, and ideally situated for both sightseeing and enjoying the beautiful city of Bayeux. We would gladly stay here again.

This was truly a 5-star stay. We would recommend Villa Lara Hotel to anyone traveling to the Normandy area. We spent five nights and it was one of the best experiences we had anywhere, and we have traveled the globe.

Villa Lara was exceptional in all categories above!! If you are spending time in Normandy or Bayeaux, hands down this is the only place to stay. Don’t even consider another hotel. The location is awesome. The rooms were very comfortable, updated and clean. The hotel staff especially Julian were outstanding. Even Phillip the owner went out of his way to take special care of us!! Hôtel Villa Lara exceeded all our expectations and made our 3 nights in Bayeaux wonderful!!! We had a lovely family room which was very spacious and beautiful, overlooking the garden. The bathroom had a welcomed walk-in shower. The staff was friendly and professional. Pleasant evening-turn downs with a room refresh given. Villa Lara is 1 minute walk from the Tours pick-up, the Cathedral, shops and great restaurants. Highly recommended.
