The room was old and stinky, outdated furniture and everything practically worn out. Had to use the towels to cover the chair. Appeared not have been cleaned for ages. The breakfast is always nice. It would have been better if the room was cleaned and renewed. I prefer to sleep in a room that is 10/10 and food 5/10. Book as a last resort.

This hotel should be shut down by health and safety. It is atrocious. It’s unclean (shower curtains are brown), dirty (toilet paper had stains and dead bugs squished between the sheets), and unhygienic (the mattresses had no mattress covers). I would rather sleep in my car than sleep here again.

There were quite a few tiny flies in my room, but it will be because the window was open as we're all the other rooms that I could see from my window. Seagulls were tremendously loud. 5 in the morning staff were really helpful. I would stay again for 1 night . Didn't realise we could get breakfast till it was too late.

Hotel was ok, not the cleanest. Breakfast not great for the money you pay for it. Would have been helpful if had some sort of sanitary bin in the toilet.

No receptionist when arrived had to wait as she was serving in the bar. Check-in ok, went to room first impressions was hotel being renovated. Went shopping only realised when we got back into the room that one of the beds had not been changed and obviously been slept in, used towels left in bathroom, went to reception who moved us into a different room, which was not fully renovated, but ok, bathroom in need or renovating, rust round taps, bottom of bath grey, no toiletries which were advertised. Beds cheap mattresses not very comfy. Booked in bed and breakfast, breakfast good selection and very good. Would we stay again? Probably no

Staff helpful and friendly. Due to being out with friends bar not used, and left before breakfast for my bus home. The room itself 143 was great but we stated to the front desk about bathroom fan noise, and cleaning of fan shows needs deeper clean. Roughly 30min walk from train/bus station. Lovely and quite, and we would return again, it's a good work hotel, and areas have been refurbished.

This is a hard review to right as it appears staff there work and I hesitate try their best to help maintain “the flogging of a dying horse”. On arrival the car park is pot holed and camera driven parking fine so make sure your reg no in system within 10 mins. It’s obvious the building is deteriorated showing age wear and previous leaks in ceilings. Surprisingly room was ok , clean sheets , towels, hot water etc but again no real comfort. Breakfast was buffet but quality , care & presentation disappointing. Interestingly bread had been frozen (wasn’t defrosted) and displaying old past dates. Also chef in attendance had whites on which were grey stained and we thought were maybe destined for a “Daz tv commercial”. If it’s price & a nights sleep and you want to move up from a homeless hostel then this is the place. In fairness a quiet night and a hot shower in morning and easy on the pocket then sign up. As I said full respect to staff toughening it out. In all reviews I finish with my acid test. Would I stay here again. No ! I wish previous guests had been more candid with review and I wouldn’t have booked.

The cleaning staff are excellent they’re so helpful especially since they’re understaffed on a few days they still go out their way. The reception staff are inviting and helpful.

Room was modern and spotless with all facilities required for stay and there is currently work being carried out to entrance to hotel which will look really nice and almost completed.Bar area was fine but glasses weren't very clean and ice machine had broken down but prices were ok for a hotel.Only let down was breakfast which we were looking forward too.Breakfast is made to order with you picking what you want at reception.Our breakfast arrived swimming on top of beans and wasn't very warm so couldn't eat it.We explained to receptionist who had taken our order thatwas passing the issue and asked could we have scrambled eggs instead which she happily agreed to but sat for 20 minutes waiting for eggs then left breakfast area and spoke to receptionist who apologised and offered to refund money we had paid for breakfast which we accepted.Would definitely stay at the hotel again but would miss out breakfast staff were great and very helpful.Hotel is about 15 walk to town centre and has free parking for guests which is a bonus.

The property is in need of a 'refresh' as it's getting 'tired' but, provided you aren't bothered about 4 star luxury it represents good value. The food is good.

For what we paid for the room we were not expecting much, from the outside and communal area it looked like its in need of some TLC but we recieved a lovely welcome from reception all reception staff were very friendly, we were pleasantly surprised when we opened the door to our room, nice big room, seats to sit, places to put clothes, clean, the bed was comfortable and we had a wonderful nights sleep some lovely little touches like tea cofee and biscuits plastic cups, we had booked breakfast also not expecting much for what we paid i can not fault the choices and it was very tasty. About a 20 min walk to the town centre but we could have caught a bus at the bottom of the street. We would recommend and would stay again

I booked this for my parents to stay 3 nights. They checked out after the first night. People arguing and doors slamming until at least 3 am. A man climbed out of his window and walked along the roof passing other guests windows. My parents who are in their 70s didn't feel safe to leave the room. I have emailed the hotel directly to ask for a refund but still no reply. I left messages for a manager to call me back but nothing. After complaining to Expedia they eventually made contact with the hotel but I was refused a refund. Avoid this place.

Lovely clean room, breakfast was amazing fresh and hot. We didn't use the bar. Staff were very polite and helpful
