We had a great time just the break my wife and I needed after a difficult start to the year illness.

A very nice, traditional hotel in a delightful setting. Clean, quiet room with a very comfortable bed. Excellent cooked breakfast. The restaurant via definitely upmarket, and priced accordingly for dinner, but it's quite true that not only if you wish to dine there, but if you wish to dine in a nearby establishment, you need to book in advance.

We had a Garden Room which was cute and quiet. The sun set right on our doorstep so it was lovely to enjoy some drinks outside. The staff here are all wonderful. The food is great. Definitely worth booking unless you are eating early as there are only a few similar quality places in town. We also loved the hearty breakfast. It was nice to see local options like kipper.

Amazing room

A lovely quirky hotel in the centre of Southwold. The staff were brilliant in every area: reception, breakfast, bar, dinner. While the room was quite small, there were nice touches. Free parking is a bonus. It’s an old building so don’t expect air conditioning and there’s lots of creaky staircases. The seagulls are noisy in the morning but you’d expect that being next to the sea. We had breakfast and dinner both nights and the food quality was excellent. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel for a weekend stay.

The hotel staff: front of house, cleaners, gardeners all provide an incredible, friendly experience. The hotel is clean, breakfast excellent (coffee less so) and it all looks fabulous too. The staff are professional, good humoured and really are the icing on a pretty terrific cake...coffee could be better....but the two magpies is literally 3 minutes walk

Love this hotel, friendly and helpful staff, beautiful interior design, bed so comfortable with beautiful linens, extra thoughtful touches. Excellent cleanliness and quality. Restaurant is a lovely space, nice breakfast but evening menu not to my taste, my meal was quite bland

Beautiful room and amenities. We stayed in one of the garden rooms which was gorgeous, and would be even nicer when warmer as each has a little table and chairs in front - the room had everything you could want v spacious and gorgeous Temple Spa bathroom products, and a lovely touch was the complimentary bottle of Copper House gin ;) lovely meal in the restaurant and delicious breakfast. We were there combining a whiskey tour and tasting just next door which would highly recommend. We know and love Southwold but rarely need to stay as have family nearby so this was a lovely treat to experience The Swan.

We’ve wanted to stay here for years and it did not disappoint! Felt like a real treat with a touch of luxury! We stayed the garden rooms-they were lovely with a table/chairs outside but so be aware the WiFi is terrible and it’s very noisy! Both woken by 530 am by birds and sounds from the factory! No ones fault of course but worth knowing if you are a light sleeper!

Loved the de luxe room we were allocated. Whole of hotel was classy from the decor to staff attentiveness.Only chose to have the breakfast option which had many choices to choose from. Hotel is in the centre of Southwold and most things happen from the tour centre. Will definitely be going back there again.

Fantastic service, beautiful room, amazing view over rooftops to sea & lighthouse. Breakfast delicious, so were the cocktails! Great location everything in walking distance. Loved all the extras in the room, thank you
