Good nights sleep. Pleasant staff and a lovely clean, comfortable bed. Any worries about noisy environment (being above a bar) quickly disappeared.

Brilliant service/staff, unable to book a taxi for New Years party down the road so the landlady offered to give us a lift. Couldn’t be more surprised/ thankful. Lovely pub/hotel nice beer and food and a great breakfast we’ll be booking again in the future.

Told upon arrival that they wouldn't be serving dinner as they had music that night. Just as well we were eating elsewhere. Room was o.k, service was poor. Waited at bar to get a drink as landlord was outside having a cigarette. Agreed 9am breakfast but no staff upon arrival, no menu on table advising of options. Hot water for tea only warm, women finally arrived and gave us menu. No bin to put tea bags, sugar wrappers etc. I wouldn't return.

There were used tea bags in the teapot & an opened packet of biscuits! Left me wondering how clean this place really was? Also, Wifi did Not work in my room!

Suited us for location and price. Bed was really comfy, great tv & tea & coffee facilities. Staff friendly. Plenty of food for breakfast. Not much else in village so nothing to walk to. We used this accommodation to visit family and Leeds Castle.

We had to go to a funeral in Maidstone and travelling from Buckinghamshire, we couldn't do both ways in one day so decided to stay over locally. We enjoyed our stay at the Roebuck. However I would say the stairs are a problem for disabled visitors like myself. The food was good, but not a big menu. Breakfast was very nice, but the kitchen closed at 9am, so it was early up as last orders were 8.45. The room and bathroom were clean and towels good. It looked as if the room had not long been decorated, but the carpet needed to be either deep cleaned or replaced as there were quite a few stains on it. Very comfortable bed. On the whole good for an overnight stop.

Very very basic pub. Room was bare and had a half glass door with a light on outside till quite late. Bathroom had mould on walls and floors and peeling ceiling wallpaper. We were told breakfast not served till 8.30 being a Sunday. We needed to leave at 8.00 to catch Eurostar and was told "breakfast is complimentary so no refund" . Cook was ill so no food and we had to go to an Indian restaurant not far away which was reasonable but expensive. Open carpark so not secure. No-one around at 8.00 am whenever we left. Don't think as I did this would be a nice country pub, it's awful.

We stayed for a night as a foursome on the way to the Channel Tunnel. Overall, the stay was acceptable at the price charged. The room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very satisfactory. The staff were pleasant. Evening meal was very variable. Starters were reasonable (mine - a salad was excellent) but the main course was very disappointing. Three of our party had fish, chips and peas and the fish batter was an unappetising grey in colour and the taste was similar. Had we ate elsewhere (severalplaces were available) our score overall would have been higher.

Lovely little hotel. Staff were really friendly and the rooms were basic but both comfortable and clean. I believe in the next few months the rooms are all being updated, new decor, new beds, etc.
