Good location and room was comfortable. Nice pillows, decent tv and good shower. Did the essentials well. I would stay again.

Overall, my stay was a pleasant and straightforward experience - the room was comfortable, everything was in order, and the check-in process was smooth. However, I was quite disappointed to be disturbed by housekeeping early in the morning. As this was a one-night stay and it was well before check-out time, the visit was entirely unnecessary and caught me (and the family) off guard. Being woken up unexpectedly is frustrating at the best of times, and the manner in which staff knocked, and used their key to open the door, was abrupt and rather rude. I'd kindly ask that housekeeping schedules take into account the length of a guest's stay - a single-night booking really doesn't require a morning visit, particularly so early. I hope this feedback is useful, as it's the only thing that put a dampener on what was otherwise a very agreeable stay.

I stayed in room 1 during this stay. The room was lovely and large and clean and the coffee machine was a bonus. My only complaint was the noise. There was a lot of road noise plus the extractors/fans on the roof which meant I had to keep the windows closed to reduce the noise which meant the room was very warm. The cooked breakfast was also not up to their usual standard either which was a little disappointing as it's usually very good. I would stay again but not in this room. The staff were great as usual which they are on every visit.

Spacious family room, however very hot and no A/C. Some window would open, others the hinge was faulty so did not stay open. Cleanliness ok.

Check in was great. My daughter loved the colouring books. 😀 The family room was nice and spacious and clean. My daughter found the sofa bed to be a bit on the hard side but was fine once we padded it out with cushions. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast where there was plenty of choice. We will definitely be back.

Really nice place to stay, I'd come back for a short stay again. The full English breakfast was good, my friend thought that his pancakes were under done, the scrambled eggs were out of a packet & watery. The bar was well stocked with a reasonable selection of beers. The only downside was that they don't serve food after 1600 on a Sunday.

Great family room with so much space for us all, met at reception in the evening by lovely helpful staff. The bar area was lovely, breakfast with plenty of choice and a nice garden and park area for us in the morning before our travel

We had a lovely 2 day break at the Park Head Hotel. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. Breakfast and dinner were delicious and top quality. Our dog, Tilly was well looked after too. Barnard castle and the surrounding area are beautiful with some great walks along the river.

The hotel in situated in a lovely location and we found it to be very quite we suited us nicely. We had breakfast and evening meal and we could not fault it. We normally stay in the travel lodge when we go up to Bishop Auckland but we will use the Park Head in future.

Easy check in, friendly staff and nice modern room. Would definitely recommend.

The room was clean enough but the shower room had streaks down the paint and signs of mildew. There was some discarded cigarettes by our bedroom door that a previous occupant must have left but housekeeping never removed them before or during our stay. Food in the restaurant was decent but the service was slow and we had to ask several times over for jugs of water to be brought to our table, too. Considering the hotel was completely refurbished just a couple of years ago, it was a disappointment. We won't be revisiting, sadly.

The Park Head is great and I stay here often. The shower was a little smelly on this visit. I wish the rooms had a fridge and either bottled water or maybe a glass so you drink water from the tap.

Good choice of destination,will stay again

An excellent hotel! We stayed for 2 nights and could not fault anything, The rooms are spacious equipped with all you need for a comfortable stay. The cleanliness of all areas was very good. All the staff were pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Highly recommended

Room was very clean and very bright, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our first time staying here but it will not be the last. Definitely 5 star from us.
