I seldom write reviews but this time around, I have to. I sprained my ankle in Barcelona on the day that I was arriving in San Sebastián. Gloria checked me in and I casually mentioned about my ankle. She immediately asked if she can do anything at all to assist me. She was so kind, helpful and was constantly checking in on me throughout my stay. The rest of the staff were the same as well. I just want her to know that I truly appreciate everything she said and did for me. Thank you and I hope I get to come back and see you guys again.

Everyone was fabulous - the staff were amazing

The decor is simple within the room but there is tons of space. Walls are thin so you have to be mindful of noise.Water and a small snack is provided with tea available as you come and go.. Extremely clean room and comfortable. Excellent location steps from Zurriola beach with a market and multiple restaurants on the same block. Staff is on-site for most waking hours. I would highly recommend this for a solo Traveller or parties of 2.

Great location and excellent value

Amazing and far exceeded our expectations. I work at a 4 star resort and wish we had those wonderful front reception ladies working with us. They were so genuine, kind and helpful. Every morning and evening they would greet us with a smile, offer to make our coffee, and assist with planning my itinerary for the day. They even helped me with my limited Spanish. They epitomized Basque culture and made us feel like family. Our room was spacious, clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was nice, The hotel is in a perfect, quaint location near everything. The cleaning staff were also extremely attentive and thorough. My wife had reservations elsewhere in San Sebastián a month after our stay. However, after our positive experience at Pension Kursaal, we won’t stay anywhere else. We booked it right there at the desk. It was my first time in Spain visiting my daughter and I can’t thank you all enough for helping make my experience so memorable. See you next time. Thank you, Erik

Loved it. Very convenient location, easy check-in (loved the self check-in option given our train came in late), great communication from staff. We appreciated the free tea and coffee in the lobby. The beds were also fantastic. Amazing night of sleep.

Our room was very comfortable. Great bed, towels, linens and so forth. Staff very helpful. Just a short walk across the bridge and you are in the heart of Old Town San Sebastian. Gros was fun too. The worst part was parking the car. It is confusing when you first get there because your GPS wants to take you to the hotel, but you have to pass it and drive a ways and then make a U-turn back to the parking. Once you get into the parking lot, it is very easy to get to the hotel. Even though it is on a busy corner, the room was very dark and quiet. We had a perfect experience. Oh...the lobby is up one floor when you arrive and the old elevator DOES work so don't carry your luggage up the stairs :-)

I was disappointed that I had paid extra for a room with a city view, but there was scaffolding outside my window with plastic around it so i did not have a view at all. I would have expected a refund on the extra money paid!! Staff were very polite and knowledgeable though.

Great location for exploring city. Walking distance to beaches and old town. Lots of local places also for food and drink. Supermarket a few doors down also. Room clean and comfortable. Fridge in room. Rooms serviced daily. Would book again

Great location easily to get to old town but just across the bridge in gros. Hotel was clean, super friendly. easy access was able to get in late after reception was closed. Would stay again.

Very clean! Large shower and large vanity counters in bath. Room was cool but somewhat humid. Great location. Would definitely stay here again.

Pension Kursal features no frills nice rooms that are very clean and walkable to restaurants, bakeries, the bus station and the old town. We arrived when there was staff to buzz us in - not sure how you arrange for the door code and room code if you arrive after 5 pm local time.

The Pension Kursaal is, as the name indicates, right across the road from the Kursaal and it is an easy walk to the old and new parts of San Sebastián or into Gros, the local neighbourhood. Rooms are compact and comfortable. Coffee (in the daytime) and tea can be made in the reception lobby. The lady at Reception gave us some good tips on things to do and places to eat.

This property was amazing. Value for money, has the loveliest staff I’ve had on all my travels - with good suggestions and a willing to help. The location was perfect for us, and for places a little far, it was easy to grab public transport near by.

The most friendly, ultra helpful staff of our 5 week trip through Europe (sorry, I can’t remember how to spell her name but it was something like Leidie). Fabulous location, near a beach and just a quick stroll across the bridge into Old Town and the rest of the city.
