I have stayed here many times. To make this a super high end facility it needs aircon in the rooms. Otherwise love the place.

Lovely historic building. Beautiful grounds. Great restaurant. Some compromise in the rooms/convenience/maintenance as you might expect for a historic building. Didn't subtract from our enjoyment, we loved it.

Great Fosters is a truly memorable stay if you’re looking for classic English manor charm with a polished luxury feel. From the moment you arrive, the property has an unmistakable old-world ambience — elegant, characterful, and full of history — while still offering the comforts and service you’d expect from a high-end hotel. I stayed in the Coach House in a King Suite, which was the perfect blend of modern comfort and traditional setting. It felt updated and spacious without losing the sense of place, and it suited the property beautifully. The grounds were a standout: immaculately kept, peaceful, and ideal for wandering or simply sitting and enjoying the atmosphere. I took advantage of my time and walked 15 miles to Windsor Castle via the Great Windsor Park, a truly memorable day. I also spent a day by the pool, which made the stay feel even more relaxing and complete. The bar was another highlight, with a lovely setting that matched the hotel’s overall charm and made it a great place to unwind in the evening. Overall, Great Fosters delivers a special experience that feels both luxurious and distinctly English. The only drawback is its proximity to the main highway, which can occasionally take away slightly from the otherwise serene setting. Even so, it remains a wonderful choice for anyone wanting character, comfort, and a beautifully atmospheric country-house stay.

The staff in the restaurant and pool weren’t very proactive. The service was good but very slow and it felt like there was only 1 staff member at breakfast and dinner who knew what to do whilst they others were very nervous and timid and unable to act proactively. The room was lovely and everything I hope for buy taps and toilet flush had seen better days - this was in the main house.

This property is like stepping back in time, yet with all the modern amenities. the grounds are gorgeous, and the Manor itself is its own attraction. The rooms are spacious and well equipped.

England and Great Britain have manor houses and castles galore that have been turned over to hotels. We have stayed at many. None come close to the care taken and beauty of the grounds and gardens. Awesome. Unparalleled. Unequalled.

Gorgeous historic property. The entire staff couldn’t have been more helpful and gracious. We’ll definitely stay here again next time we’re near Heathrow. Very convenient….only 8 miles away.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel and grounds were truly stunning. The room was spacious and nice even though we weren't in the main building. The pool was great. Staff were helpful overall. Breakfast was a massive let down. And the food we ordered through room service was just OK.

Disappointing Beautiful Grounds Rooms and general interior area not very clean Staff all very nice but sometimes getting orders wrong due I think to a shortage of staff members Does not warrant the 5 stars listing

Arrived at the hotel at 1:30pm as checkin was not until 3pm we sat in the bar and waited. Looking around the staff seemed flustered, stressed and any requests felt like a bit too much trouble. At 3pm went to check in and was told the room was still not ready. Only then were we allowed to use the facilities I.e outdoor pool.(would it have been too much trouble to offer this at 1:30pm?) we were told they would find us when the room was ready. At 6pm still no sign of staff so went to reception to check in, thankfully the room was ready and the staff acknowledged the delay by providing us with a late check out. We were also informed at check in that the restaurant was fully booked so would have to go elsewhere for dinner. Upon being show to the room 2 air con units were available, these were both turned on whilst we went for dinner but upon returning to the room it must have been in excess of 45 degrees. This made sleeping incredibly difficult. At midnight the fire alarm went off, followed by 2 hours of wedding guests shouting outside the front of the hotel. Meanwhile the temperature in the room was inhumane. This hotel advertises air con but this should be removed from the website! The children swimming times state on the website 8-10am however children were in the pool all day. Beware if you are booking a spa day as it won’t be as relaxing as you want! Upon check out the staff didn’t even ask how the stay was. Probably because they had received so many complaints
