Not terrible just nothing great. Poor for business travel. Strange room with no external window. Understaffed. Could not bill drinks or food to the room. Slow service.

Very odd room of having a window onto a corridor which meant that everyone could see into your room. Ended up having the keep the curtains drawn for privacy so had no natural light and no fresh air. Very noisy generator outside so had to keep bathroom window shut as well.

It served our needs, breakfast was good and parking was good.

The staff were doing their best, polite, friendly and trying to help but the property needs investment. It has been bought by premier inn but not yet upgraded. The rooms are tired and whilst cleaned are in need of updates to really feel fresh. The beds were comfortable and had fresh linens but the room very hot, though they did provide a fan and it was the heatwave and eveywhere was hot. Evening meal was not bad, burgers and good fries, but again the pub area has sagging ceiling panels, sticky tables and a rough outdoor area with a waft of septic tank. Breakfast did not have an oatmilk option, which is fine, my personal requirement,...but we were told it was available so didn't get any frustratingly had no morning coffee. The breakfast had a lot of potential and a good range of offerings but had some poor elements (mouldy fruit accidentally mixed with fresh, nicely poached eggs but on an untoasted muffin). We did not have breakfast at all the second day. Again the staff were nice but there was an overlap where they said Hotels.com needed to refund us and Hotels.com stated the hotel would not refund us/allow us to cancel. Overall with investment an ideal stopover but, at present, feels poor value.

We like the Sparrow because of its location - near junction of A46 and M6 and it’s quite comfortable as well. We didn’t try the food on this occasion.

Great stay at sparrow. Room was one of the best family rooms we’ve stayed in with loads of soace and 2 proper beds for the kids. Quiet location, professional staff, really good breakfast. Good vfm. Would definitely stay there again.

Car parking was convenient. Bed was comfortable. Storage facilities were a bit basic but ok for a night or two. Didn’t try dinner but breakfast ok

Good location not far off the M6. Stayed hereto break a journey . Easy to find, large carpark. Room was very warm when we arrived but radiatior had a thermostat, window opened to let some air in. Theres also a fan in the room. Appreciated the bottled water and biscuits in the room as well as the usual tea & coffee. Lady on receptionist helpful & friendly

Good parking

Water in tap in bathroom sink was cold. There was no hot water in the sink when washing hands. Also tissue paper was of poor quality and they were sticking all over. At reception at arrival it was less welcoming.

Friendly staff, clean room and bathroom, cosy bed. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Good value, great stay, thank you!

Room very clean and spacious

Clean and comfortable room with a generous tea tray, really warm welcome, great evening meal and lovely breakfast the next day. Fabulous offers on food too, really happy with our stay, we had a great time and would recommend to others
