As Thailand's third-busiest airport, Phuket International Airport (HKT) is the key gateway to the country’s largest island. It's about 32 kilometers from Phuket Town in the island's north. Prior to the pandemic, the airport managed over 18 million passengers annually. From 2022 onwards, passenger numbers have been steadily picking up, reflecting the airport's crucial role in Thailand's tourism industry. Two primary terminals—Terminal 1 for international flights and Terminal 2 for domestic journeys—are operational at Phuket Airport. Accompanied by a 3,000-meter runway that’s capable of receiving wide-body aircraft, the contemporary international terminal, established in 2016, boasts modern Thai design and is equipped to handle up to 12.5 million passengers per year.

Phuket is served by more than 50 airlines, connecting to major hubs across Asia, Europe, and the Middle East. It particularly boasts strong networks with China, Singapore, and the Middle East. Thai Airways, AirAsia, and Bangkok Airways maintain substantial operations on-site, providing comprehensive domestic and regional connections.
