Malay is a municipality in the Aklan province of the Western Visayas region of the Philippines. It is the second most populated municipality in Aklan, with a population of 60,077 in 2020. Malay is the northernmost town on Panay Island and the youngest municipality in Aklan. The resort island of Boracay is part of Malay, and most travelers come to Malay on their way to Boracay.
Malay is known for its white sand beaches, coral reefs, and blue waters. It's also home to the Malay Ecological Park, which has a butterfly farm and views of Boracay Island. Some of the popular attractions in Malay include Panghilan Cave, Virgin Island, and Puka Beach. You can also enjoy sunset sailing, a traditional water activity where you can watch the sunset. Other things to do in Aklan include visiting the Nino Ati-Atihan Festival, exploring Bakhawan Eco-Park, discovering Sapsapon Cave, marveling at Jawili Falls, or learning about The Herminia Piña Weaving Industry.
Malay is a coastal municipality with 17 barangays (districts), miles of coastline, bays, islands, seaside villages, and watersport centers. The main city of Malay is Caticlan.

Kalibo is the capital of Aklan Province in the Philippines and is located in the northwest of Panay island. It is a first-class municipality with a population of 89,127 as of 2020. Kalibo is a major transportation hub for the resort island of Boracay, which is about a two-hour trip away. Kalibo is also home to the Ati-Atihan Festival, a week-long celebration in January that is considered the "Mother of all Philippine Festivals".
The city is also renowned for its piña-weaving tradition, recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage craft. Nature enthusiasts can explore the Bakhawan Eco-Park, an acclaimed mangrove forest offering a tranquil escape. Additionally, Kalibo is a major producer of piña cloth, a soft textile crafted from pineapple plants. Food lovers will delight in the city's flavorful processed meat products, including longganisa, chorizo, tocino, and embutido, which are cherished local delicacies.
Kalibo has an international airport (KLO) that offers regular domestic flights from Manila and Cebu, as well as international flights to cities in Asia. The airport has a runway that can accommodate widebody jets and is a hub for Cebu Pacific, Pan Pacific Airlines, and Philippines Air Asia. Transfer options from the airport to Boracay include air-conditioned mini-buses, motor tricycles, and private limo taxis.&nbsp;
