Traveloka EPIC Sale Successfully Boosts Optimism in Indonesia’s Tourism Sector

Jakarta, October 15, 2021 - Traveloka, lifestyle superapp in Southeast Asia, has successfully held its largest promotional program EPIC Sale for the fifth time on October 5 to 11, 2021 by involving around 54,000 partners in the tourism sector. Traveloka recorded more than 1.5 times increase in booking compared to EPIC Sale in March 2021. During the EPIC Sale period, Traveloka booked 7 million users accessing the application. All of these show that Traveloka EPIC Sale was able to create the market demands expected to bring positive contribution to the partners’ businesses. Traveloka EPIC Sale is a testament to the company’s long-term commitment to supporting the growth of the domestic tourism ecosystem, including during the pandemic to gradually boost the national economic recovery.

Traveloka EPIC Sale facilitated users to plan their trips and lifestyle needs through various attractive offers from the partners for the best end-to-end solutions. During the EPIC Sale period, Traveloka’s most popular products were Eats Delivery, Accomodation and Airplane Ticket. This finding is in line with users’ most favorite activity which is staycation in areas within Java Island.

Traveloka saw people’s trust to conduct safe travel rose along with the various activities they selected. It is evident through 11,000 Traveloka Clean Partners that enjoyed traffic and sales increase compared to other partners outside the Clean Partners. Traveloka also recorded 2.4 times increase for travel insurance purchases compared to the beginning of 2021. Besides prioritizing health protocols on their trips, Traveloka also recorded that outdoor activities served as alternatives for users as seen from the rising interests to outdoors attraction products and watersports for up to 15 times compared to the regular days before EPIC Sale period.

Most favorite destinations include Bali and areas in Java Island such as Bandung, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, and Malang. Most of the users went on trips to enjoy the weekend outside the place where they live. Staycation remains the most favorite activity with selections of staying at the four to five stars hotels in Jakarta, Bandung, and Puncak, Bogor. Airplane ticket bookings by users also increase for weekend getaway to Bali and Yogyakarta. Road trip also becomes another alternative for users who opt to travel through ground transportation.

Traveloka EPIC Sale was present with various mechanisms to facilitate the partners reach out more customers as well as to make it easy for users to meet their growing traveling and lifestyle needs. By utilizing the livestream channel for various interesting offers from the partners, Traveloka EPIC Sale has managed to attract more than 4 million viewers of Traveloka EPIC LIVE both from social media and Traveloka app platforms. For the partners, Traveloka also facilitated them with a special EPIC Live session that allowed them to promote their products and services live through live streaming features on the app and Traveloka’s social media accounts. The special EPIC LIVE managed to attract users’ interest and generated up to 3.7 times unique viewers compared to the regular Live Stream before the EPIC Sale period and it also contributed to the increase in traffic and sales increase of partners who participated up to two times bigger.

Traveloka had started to build the enthusiasm of EPIC Sale for users from Sept. 29 to Oct 4, 2021 by holding EPIC Referral. The mechanism allowed users to have the opportunity to win daily discount coupons. There were 180,000 Traveloka users who joined this session with more than 70,000 referral links shared and more than 3 million coins gathered by the users. During the EPIC Sale period from Oct. 5 to 11, 2021, Traveloka presented various games with prizes to add users’ Traveloka Points and discount coupons. Games such as Pick-A-Loka EPIC Sale Special and Teka Teki Traveloka were accessed by more than 350,000 users and more than 200 million Traveloka Points were distributed. Traveloka also had the EPIC Mission joined by more than 157,000 users and distributed more than 87,000 rewards.
