Hotel Riu Palace Aruba - All Inclusive

The staff were friendly and worked very hard to make the stay enjoyable. We were incredibly unhappy with our room. The first night we got to the room we noticed the peep hole was missing and covered with tape. That same night the toilet broke and maintenance had to come fix it. While we were waiting for maintenance to come fix it we turned on the tv and that was also broke. Maintenance was able To fix the toilet and tv. There was mold on the ceiling and the air conditioner didn’t work. Maintenance was not able to fix these problems. The room was incredibly uncomfortable due to the high humidity from the air not working properly. Everything felt wet, the bed sheets, our clothes. We requested a room change but the process for that wasn’t feasible with kids. You basically have to move out of the room, they store your belongings until you can be moved into another room. Needless to say we were very disappointed with the quality of the room for the price we paid.

During one of my dinner at the Sayuri restaurant, I ordered seared tuna sesame and PISTACHIO, because I saw the next table ordered and was looking excellent, however, my tuna arrived without pistacho, when I asked the waitress, He asked the chef and the answered provided was the new Tuna comes without Pistacho, that is the old menu. Few question I had: I saw it with pistachio in the next table that night, why if they do not have pistacho, at the time of my order, did not clarify that now comes without Pistacho or why does the new menu still describe seared with Pistacho. I do not like someone lied to me. The rest of experience was ok

Great property. Rooms are a little musty and clothes smelled when we got back home, but it was a great time and the staff are all amazing! Will definitely be back!

Been there a few times Terrible now

Name, it was overall a lovely place. We just wish they had shower curtains or doors in the shower. After three people have showered, the floors got enormously wet. Other than that great place!

Staff at every level were helpful and friendly. A cocktail lounge that is a little quieter would be nice but overall this is a great facility. The food selections were great and delicious.

I wish the staff was able to assist me in fixing my issues with the room I booked for my vacation. Hours passed before anything was addressed. I was told I rent the room not the bed!

Acess to the beach, and shopping area.

Property was clean but dated.

Thought the view from our room was spectacular. Thought the facilities, for the most part, were pretty nice, but could use a little upgrading. Thought the bathroom could have been cleaner the mirrors were spotty, shower curtain rod was rusty and the shower curtain rings just pulled off because you could not pull the shower curtain across smoothly. Quite a bit of sand on the floor when we first came into the room. Could have used a good mopping. The glasses were never replaced, we had the same ones in the room for our 6 day stay. Wi-fi needs improvement. Thought the food was good in every restaurant and the buffet. The staff was excellent. They were very pleasant, accommodating and friendly, particularly Yanet. She is a gem!!

Every person who works here are excellent. I didn’t like that people held places for themselves at the pool and the beach

We felt very safe and the propety was super clean!

We kept getting locked out of our room. Once to twice a day. Had to keep going to the front desk.

I loved a majority of things about the property,but the rooms need remodeling and updated furniture.

This hotel is not a 4 star hotel. Upon check-in, we were told our room was ready but the elevator was out of service to our floor. They accommodated us (I am pregnant) to another floor closer to ground floor which was great. However, walking into this room, the bed sheets were dirty, had hair and stains. The mattress was as rock hard, the most uncomfortable bed we have slept in. The pillow cases did not fit the pillows. The comforter was wool and extremely dirty. The lobby smelled like a bathroom. We were woken up three times at 2-3AM by construction going on floors above us and had to call to complain. There were no do not disturb signs so we were disturbed from naps every day. We were told restaurants open at 6 pm. There was one restaurant that only allows minimum seating for 6pm. The next seating isn’t until 9pm, but the entire restaurant was empty. This happened on our last night and we were not advised of this policy. They also told us restaurants do not take reservations and are first come first serve, but when we arrived to this steakhouse restaurant, they had already taken reservations starting from 3pm. The food at the buffet was constantly cold even when we were the first to walk in at 12 pm. There was no drink service on the beach and no one to assist helping us with beach chairs. The umbrellas were broken and staff walked around handing out screws that we had to put in ourselves to support the umbrella staying open. It is a shame, because Aruba is a beautiful.

To be fair, I think we’ve decided we are not all-inclusive fans. Most of the food is mediocre. Our best dinners were the ribeye steaks at the steakhouse. Rooms were huge and so was the bed. Bed was a little hard and everyone in our 14 person group were complaining about the pillows. The palapa on the beach were great but you had to go out and put your stuff on the chairs at 6:30am to get one. What we didn’t like about it was the noise. All 14 of us would be at the pool and all afternoon the loudspeaker was going with various games. Fun for the first day or two and then we were over it. Although our room was ocean facing, it was over the entertainment area and it was incredibly loud each evening. I was told it would end each night by 10:30. Our last night it went on till 11:00 Last time we were in Aruba we stayed down the street. The rooms weren’t as nice but the facilities didn’t break your eardrums. Also, for some unknown reason, the wind is always hurricane force at the RIU. Walk a short ways down the beach and it turns into a comfortable breeze. We won’t go back to the RIU.

Clean large resort , great food great pools , the staff was awesome by bar Watiers josesway was great, lovely energetic pool staff and activities , nightly entertainment fun , all the bars were nice so many different options , bartenders by the live stage were so nice attentive jossy and Mimi , amazing beaches , we stood at the palace and were able to hang out arcades only next door , hotly recommended this resort, a little pricey but worth it
