Mercure Darwin Airport Resort

We came to relax and found the pool bar area a great place to chill

Unit was old and needs refurbishment. No bus to airport when required.

Great place to stay. Near the aiport. Great services and amenities.

The site us having renovations done, but that was not an issue. The service from the shuttle bus which is dirty, to check in which is tardy, to the standard of the room booked, the place is a mess. The walkway to my original room had overflowing rubbish bin and laundry bins on the walkway, the room was truly awful; door with chipped paint and dirty, carpet dirty, walls with marks on them. I complained and was given an upgrade, but from arrival to the other room took 1.5 hours. Next morning, couldn't even get a coffee as there are not enough staff; I was the only person who had to leave without breakfast.- Mercure - never again.

Check in was absolutely appalling. Starting with arrival - hotel co-located with the Novotel but there is nothing in prearrival information to explain that. This is an airport hotel so I had to walk (with all my bags). There’s no arrival shuttle - & too close (700m) for a taxi. All signage states Novotel, and google maps not aware - I walked a mile past the hotel until I finally walked back to ask at the Novotel. On returning to the Novotel, the desk was completely overwhelmed; with around 40 people ahead of me. At this point I still thought I was just there to ask directions - and had to wait in line over 30 mins. Only two other hotel guests were ahead of me. The rest were clearly there to use the pool, something that they must rent out to locals for extra money. These people took a long time to “check in” though. They need a separate line for guests - exhausted people WITH BAGGAGE - and a streamlined process for pool users. When I finally got my turn the check in man explained that this was (despite all signage) also the check-in for Marriott. A small mercy I suppose - although I still had to walk a way through the Novotel complex to get there. This staff member was worse than indifferent to my concern about the misleading signage and my long detour. He rolled his eyes and said “I get complaints about that every day, and nothing changes. No apology or commiserations. A horrible start to an otherwise ok stay

The room was a bit tired but very spacious. Staff are great. The reception is at the Novotel not the Mercure which is not advertised and did cause some confusion for us and others.

Nice place to stay

The hotel is in a complex of various brands - Ibis, Mercure and another. The pools are beautiful. I liked the adults only pool as well. The rooms were clean - but I couldn’t turn off the overhead fan - which wasn’t too bad as it was hot. But the room door was full of mould. I appreciate with the weather up there it’s very hard to stop this. It reminds me of a Fijian Resort. Right beside the airport - easy to walk - literally on the other side of the car park. But there is a shuttle service also.

Extremely slow check-in. Buy a quick, easy check in computer system, all staff had trouble,,,, or train them ,,, please,, bloody long que😕 but otherwise fine

The property was great. I wished they're had been room service but it was nice to go to Cossies for breakfast.

I was put into a disabled person room where the aircon wasn't working properly, so we were hot all night and the bathroom vanity light wasn't working either. The room was so bright from the breezeway light being on that I couldn't sleep properly, kept waking up thinking I had slept in. The Mecure pool is in need of some major maintenance, and the new big pool had lots of bugs floating in it, and closed at 7pm. I have stayed at the Mecure many times and generally always been happy with the service

Excellent location. Super friendly customer sevice and flexible with check out times and storage of lugggae.

Comfortable stay with restaurant availability

Love the pool area for families. The stairwell smelt of urine. Had to ask and wait for hot water and milk at the buffet breakfast. Not fair to have to pay for parking close to rooms with small children.

Nice and close to airport

Very dated. The old pool area is quite unsafe, broken tiles, landscape a trip hazard decking area has broken decking boards.

Cannot recommend high enough. Our check in staff member Baites Gerrard was the best customer service ever. Loved our pool villa. Will definitely stay many times more as we want to personally see Baites again.
