Sonder by Marriott Bonvoy La Galerie

There was ongoing major steel construction work happening just outside the hotel, starting as early as 7am and lasting throughout the day. This was throughout my stay. The constant noise made it impossible to rest. I understand that this is not within hotel’s control, but a duty of care is to make guests aware prior so that they can choose to stay or not. There was steel construction, so this was not minor works, but major building works which cause a lot of noise. Furthermore, the bar located downstairs was excessively noisy, people singing and shouting well into the night. Also, the TV did not work. It’s advertised as Chrome Cast, but this is not true. There isn’t anything on there despite troubleshooting for hours to enable you to use the TV, also annoyingly internet issues. I used the Wi-Fi details in the room, but this did not work. It said that the internet provider blocked access.

This space is easy to access and walkable with regards to Old Montreal. It may be a bit loud because it is on a busy street with bars and restaurants. Overall, a really great stay and very clean.

Checked in found stains on sheets and bathroom floors dirty ... no front desk so had to get hold of Sonder customer service .. eventually after 2 hours got hold and they were not able to find any replacement sheets or any housecleaning crew to do .. and night they changed our room to a different same style room but door access codes were not working ..secondly, masssive road constructions on rue Saint Paul very inconvenient to move around and construction sound started 6:30 in morning

No fuss or muss. Get a code to enter the building and up the elevator and into your room. No lines to check in or staff to hand you a key after waiting in line. Its like home.

The room was clean and the provision of toiletries in the hallway was very helpful. The hotel's location is great for walking to main points of interest. However, the walls of our room were very thin so we could hear our next-door neighbors. The bathroom wall facing into the main room has frosted glass with a clear section on the top and bottom, which made it awkward to use when multiple people are staying in the room together. There weren't any extra blankets available, which I would have appreciated for chilly nights.

Nice place. Loved the showerhead. Only issue was very thin walls. Could hear my neighbours. Other than that, clean, nice area. A little far for transport

Beautiful place to stay and super lovely. Walls were a tad thin but nothing horrible you just definitely could hear everyone in and around the building. Unfortunately the area outside was full of garbage but that’s not their fault just a Montreal thing.

Clean, easy to access, and comfy

When we arrived turned out that we were supposed to receive check in email that we never did. Since there is no stuff no way to get inside. We called the help desk and the person was unable to help us. We needed confirmation number for online checking and the hotel was unable to provide it. Since we didn’t have much time before the event we came for we had to walk in snow with our luggage as there was no way to leave those, of course no reception. Finally after 45 call with Expedia someone was eventually able to send us check in email with confirmation number. The digital key never worked the first time. One we spent few minutes trying the code or phone to get into our apartment. Horrible experience all together and we will never again stay in any hotel of that company. The other issue is the noise. The walls are paper thin. We could hear even low volume conversations of our neighbours

The elevator is definitely going to break soon, it makes awful shaking and grinding noises. Aside from that the stairs work and the room was clean and quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was excellent…only thing you need to be aware of is that this property in on top of and near several bars and nightclubs and so there will be noise after hours. They do provide guests with ear plugs, but if you need absolute quiet then this place may not be the one for you. Other than that the location is ideal as you’re in the hub of the Old Port of Montreal!

Very nice stay

Stayed for 2 nights for Igloofest and had a great time. Countless places to walk to within Old Montreal, and the nearest metro station is close too.

Very bad experience overall. The place was nice and clean. The checkin process is long and kinda ridiculous. Now to the fun part. since we arrives we were hearing people talking... but i didn't think much of it since it's a busy street i thought it will be just people outside and brushed it off. we were pretty tired and slept fairly quick. the next day I head conversations since the morning until the time we left the room and it was the same people. when I tried to see where the voice comes from . i found they separated the rooms with just drywall and that's not the worst part.... the drywall goes to the window but it doesn't touch, so there is an opening between the rooms which made it sound as if we were in the same room . we hear the next room and they hear us very clearly as if we are in the same room. This was the most uncomfortable I ever felt in my life. tried to stay quiet and just get in the room to sleep. and of course ... what they mean by innovation and new way to stay is just cutting all staff. there is no one working and they ask to call an 800 number that..... i just didn't want to deal with any of it. just closed my eyes and slept and tried to blackout the conversations that can be heard out of respect.

A hotel put together by someone in an office many miles away. Great on paper, poorly executed. Everything was half thought through, clearly untested, and poorly planned. Cancelling all 19 bookings for my arriving colleagues now.

Super nice place to stay for a couple of days in one of the most scenic neighborhoods of Montreal.

Excellent location. Easy access. Small room but clean, fresh with all required amenities. Would have preferred a different in room coffee service such as (Keurig). Television option unique but accessible with personal subscriptions.

Great spot in the centre of Old Montreal. Clean and tidy layout with plenty of closet space. Studio room has no desk or couch but courtyard window and elevator access to floor. Seamless keyless entry with the app. Suggestions: an on-site luggage storage option would be ideal. No gym but great spot for running or walking. No front desk so although it is a well populated area and above a restaurant, you’re on your own in case of any issue; stay aware of your surroundings and security as in any city. I’d return!

The property is very clean and conveniently located near restaurants, shops, and museums. There's a parking spot one block from the hotel, making it easy to walk from your car. We stayed for 2 days; the room was roomy and the bed was soft. I recommend this place for people who want to stay somewhere reasonably priced and who want to explore Old Port Montreal.
