Interesting historic property sensitively converted to hotel use

First impressions were really good however for a 4 star hotel the cleanliness was a slight let down, the main stair way was dirty, and more attention to detail in the rooms as it was generally dusty and still had hair on the floor from a previous occupant. Also the Tv didn’t have any streaming options or access to Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. And the Tv wouldn’t connect to any device to stream remotely. Breakfast was ok and just again general cleanliness under tables/floor area needs more attention. Staff were really helpful and friendly on booking in, and it was a nice touch to have our bags in our room when we returned to check in. The bed was nice and comfortable and overall the room was very nice and quiet too, apart from a the air conditioning system which was a little tricky to use/turn off. Overall though we had a nice stay for the short period we were there.

The hotel was lovely and the staff extremely polite and helpful. Tamang went over and above making our stay very enjoyable.

Excellent service room was amazing staff upgraded and left anniversary message with bottle of wine which was much appreciated will be coming back in the future

The location was stunning. However, the check in? We were asked what time we would like breakfast, which the staff knew we had not included in our package, therefore, they were about to add a further £36 to our bill, without checking whether we would actually choose to have it. Also, the gentleman I spoke to over heard me say that, on booking we should be told that photo id was required upon check in. There were 3 others checking in, who were also unaware. This receptionist, was clearly not listening to me and dismissed my comments as seemingly irrelevant, very unprofessional, as my comments were to help this process. I think it is a little over kill with the security, as most checking has already been done at this point and £50 taken as security however, if that is your policy so be it. When asking for a taxi 30 mins before we needed it, I did not expect it be another 20 mins. Traffic is always a nightmare in London but I do not believe that the young receptionist rang or contacted the taxi company very quickly, hence the delay. The train station is 13 mins walk away, so taxis are always around. At the time of booking, instead of looking me in the eye and saying, “Yes, I will do that right away”, giving me confidence that it will be done. She tapped furiously on the computer, without giving me any eye contact and left me hanging whilst I walked away thinking it would be done. She very kindly hailed a taxi for us, which we could have done, if we had known that was quicker.

It was a beautiful location. Restaurants left something to be desired. And room service was veeeeeeerrrrry slow. The shower was beautiful and bed was oh so comfortable

Hotel was in a great location south of Tower Bridge, so easy walking for all things on that side of the river. Half way between London Bridge and Bermondsey. We didn't have breakfast there as we preferred to go out, and only had bar snacks and drinks in the evening which were good. Seating on the raised area is comfortable, I found the lower area a bit draughty. My husband didn't like the background music, but he's old ;) Room and beds comfortable, Nespresso coffee machine was very slow and had to be pushed several times to get a decent portion. Bit disappointed that the milk wasn't replaced after the first day, nor the cups/glasses washed, but the bed was made and the bins emptied. Perhaps an oversight? Bit odd with the door to the bathroom sliding over the cupboard. Clever idea, except with the lighting being automatic so wakes the other person if you get out during the night.

Great location and service

The Dixon came recommended by a coworker. One of the first things I did once I left London was to thank him for the recommendation. The hotel was immaculate. Clean, the decor was beautiful, and the staff was fantastic. They had a room ready for me at 9 am which was a Godsend because we were on an overnight flight and got zero sleep. A short nap re-energized us so we could enjoy London that day. Thank you Dixon

Great hotel in fab location. Clean, quiet, staff couldnt do enough for you. Comfy beds, nice bathroom, delicious breakfast with loads of choice. Had a lovely 1 night stay and would definitely recommend.

Overnight stay for Valentine’s Day. Room upgraded on arrival. Complimentary chocolate and cookies at reception. Plenty of references to the buildings history (magistrates court and prison) - ask a member of staff for guided tour! ‘Spoiler Alert’ look out for the handcuffs on the chandelier in the entrance lobby. Hotel spotless, and staff keen to be if service. We enjoyed our stay so much we booked for another night !

This hotel is so beautiful and the rooms are stunning. I would definitely recommend a stay in this hotel, the bed wqs so comfortable and the staff are very welcoming. The only downfall was that we didn't stay there for another night

Excellent friendly staff, particularly Tamang on Reception. Room was lovely and very clean. 2 minutes walk to Tower Bridge and very close to the Tower of London. We would go again.
