Beautiful country village location excellent quality and service, welcoming to humans and dogs alike.

I didn’t get to stay. I did ask if the date could be deferred but it wasn’t an option

The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are friendly and ready to help. The location is quite and convenient for travelling.

This pub with rooms is perfect for what it is. Room was clean, modern, pleasant. Food was great. People were friendly, kind and welcoming. Close to motorway but quiet and in a pretty village. Used this place to split my journey from London to friends in Scotland. Will use it again. Bravo.

The staff were lovely and very helpful. The food was delicious. The hotel was in good condition, with lots of comfy settees and chairs in the bar/lounge area. On the down side: The room, though nicely presented and furnished, had not been thought through, for the needs of weary travellers. There was nowhere to put your case, (without tripping over it during the night) apart from on the floor, just outside the en-suite. There was a fancy metal unit with a few coat hooks and a small shelf, but nowhere to lay out clothes or hang up clothes. I think this is the first hotel in over 25 years, that has not had a TV or even a radio, in the room. They did however have 2 comfy armchairs, but no table to put a cup or a glass. Which meant that, you had to hold your drink and could not do a lot else. The bathroom had one tiny shelf, although it was a very large room, again it needed more shelving for toiletries. There were a couple of nice touches, i.e. a little jar of sweets in the bedroom and a jar of cotton pad and buds, in the bathroom. Overall, it was very much overpriced for the night and the facilities, especially at this time of the year. In January we stayed in a large estate house for 2 nights and we upgraded twice to get a ground floor room. We only paid about £10 more for those two nights, with everything I mentioned above, than we did for this one night stay.

Beautiful room, amazing bed and shower. Lovely quiet area in beautiful area. Staff were very friendly and welcoming, but seemed under-staffed. Breakfast was under-whelming.

Called on the last leg of a 3 week tour, hotel was conveniently located near the M6 and easy to find. We were well looked after from arrival to departure and nothing was too much trouble. We dined at the hotel and the food was excellent - would definitely recommend.

What a welcoming and friendly place. Everyone was so nice and we had a lovely stay. Our dog was welcomed and enjoyed the quiet surroundings and green areas nearby for a little walk at night.

We stayed for just one night during our visit to the Lake District. While the hotel itself was comfortable, there wasn't much to do nearby, which made it a bit challenging to keep the kids entertained. I was surprised to find that there was no TV in the room. While this wasn't a major issue, it would have been helpful to have some entertainment for the children since we didn't bring anything else with us. On a positive note, the breakfast was very good and definitely a highlight of our stay.

Unfortunately there was a 40th birthday party in the hotel which caused a lot of noise in the bar area. No television in the room - big miss especially for News in the morning. No coat hangers - only hooks. Towel rail in bathroom far too small. Breakfast although well presented was burnt. Overall, certainly not value for money at £140 per night.

Located in a very rural location but a stones throw from a NT property, this little gem is worth a short stay. Special shout out to the bathroom which was second to none. Only thing which threw me was the lack of TV in the room, but not a big deal, and the smallness of the room as there was not much space for a suitcase on the floor. But for a short stay it was perfect. Breakfast was perfection

It’s a cracking pub with rooms. Lovely welcome, friendly staff, spotlessly clean, huge and comfortable bed. All complimented by very good food. The proprietors know what they’re doing and do it very well. I enjoyed my stay thoroughly.

Amazing stay food lovely, room was out of this world big and spacious, massive bathroom with a bath which fill was perfect t fit my two babies, nothing to much trouble messaged and asked if they had a travel fit before arrival even gave us a good up single bed for one my babies. Only downside was no tv in the room was no big deal as had the babies tablets so they could watch cartoons . Breakfast was beautiful however normal sausage would of been preferred to smoked bacon and black pudding again not a major issue as opted not to have sausage, black pudding and haggis.
