The Tytherington

Always good to return to Tytherington attentive staff, good service, very comfortable beds, high standard of decor, lovely surroundings.

I booked our stay well in advance and contacted the hotel to confirm we were able to use the spa facilities on the day of checkout as I knew we would be arriving at the hotel later in the evening (9pm.) I was told yes, you can use the facilities on either day. Upon checking in we’re told you can use the facilities up until checkout time (11am) so I raised the query and explained I had contacted the hotel prior and at no point was told only until 11am. That’s when another member of staff (I now know his name to be David) chirped up and continued to tell us the facilities are complementary and basically made us feel like he was doing us a favour even letting us use them until 11am. The only solution at that point was to pay an extra charge for late checkout and at least have use of the spa until 1pm. After we got to our room feeling very unwelcome I re-read our welcome letter, checked the website and other reviews and nowhere does it specify limited use of the spa. Even the room leaflet stated 6am-10pm weekdays for leisure facilities. We stayed Sunday night hoping to use the spa Monday. In fact the website quotes in the T&Cs ‘you are more than welcome to enjoy the use of our facilities for the DAY post-checkout’ I queried this with reception in the morning after breakfast and was basically told ‘yeah ‘they’ don’t like the guests using after checkout.’ Breakfast was good, the lady welcoming guests for breakfast was really lovely. The hotel was absolutely brilliant, everything was great about the room and facilities. Our only complaint was that the bed was two matterses pushed together snd it was noticable during our sleep

A smooth check-in and extremely comfortable rooms. Ideal place to stay if exploring the Peak District and within easy access to Manchester as well. The spa facilities are amazing, especially after a long days walking where there is a huge jacuzzi to relax in as well as a sauna a steam room. Managed to charge my car overnight as well so that was very handy too !

I and my partner enjoyed our stay here. The hotel was very clean, the staff were wonderful, the wellness facilities were too notch, we also enjoyed a 7km walk to Prestbury Village and around the facility. The food was also good. I would definitely recommend and I will surely be back.

My husband and I only stayed for one night, but very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I took advantage of the spa area, which was lovely, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was very quiet, with only a couple of other people using the saunas and the hydro pool. I found the robes and slippers provided in the room useful as this meant I was able to change into my swimwear before using the spa. We chose not to eat in the restaurant after reading mixed reviews about it, but we did have breakfast. The breakfast was, on the whole good but not the best I've had when staying in a hotel. There was enough choice, both hot and cold options, My main complaint would be that the "hot" options were not hot but just about warm. It was lovely to watch people practicing their golf out on the beautiful golf course while we ate breakfast. Overall, I would recommend The Tytherington for a lovely, relaxing stay.

We stayed as a couple for the weekend. From beginning to the end our stay was amazing! We really enjoyed the spa and the pool, evening live music at the bar and the pizzas for dinner. Breakfast was also fine but there was no cheese and mostly sweet food which was a bit odd for a Turkish person like me :) overall, I highly recommend.

this was my wedding night and the team did not know that however i stayed for another night and for the following night our room was decorated and there were petals and a banner. it made us feel special

Great hotel, clean and tidy, lots of parking. Bed comfortable. Hotel was quiet. Only complaint was not having coffee granules available (had Taylors coffee bags which are horrible). Breakfast was adequate - hot food wasn't very hot even when just put out. Would stay there again
