Stayed here for 3 nights do a conference locally and it was perfect. Friday enjoyed a beautiful meal in the restaurant. Staff went above and beyond. Very approachable if I had any questions. Looking forward to coming back next year!

A lovely welcome and everyone during our stay were lovely. We stayed in the outside annexe so can’t comment on more internal rooms. These rooms were clean and well equipped just are ready for a refurb which judging from the rest of the property will be done I am sure. Still very worth a visit the restaurant was amazing

This was a lovely pub with friendly staff and great food and i would recommend eating here. I would stay somewhere else though, the room was basic, the heating did eventually come on, when i checked in i was told that they don't offer breakfast in the week which isn't very helpful when you have already booked.

The food was amazing, we would recommend the restaurant to anyone. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. However, we did not appreciate having to use an outside, open, staircase to access the room. I am terrified of heights and was terrified. Not pleased to have to go outside if it rained. The shower was only just useable, low pressure: the basin was so small the if you leant forward to clean your teeth you bashed your head off the glass shelf. There was nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. There was no way to control the room temperature and it got far too hot. The beds though were wonderful. Not having breakfast on the Monday was a surprise and a let down. Still worth a visit though as any upgrading is still a work in progress. We wish them luck.

Public areas were great and full of character. Staff were friendly and the bar stocked a good selection of beers. The accommodation however is tired and in need of refurbishment.

It was a convenient location for where we were going. The room was adequate but could have done with a makeover. Breakfast was not until 9.30 so too late for us. The rickety wooden staircase upstairs was hard to negotiate for us over a certain sge - when leaving, we found there was an outside metal staircase.

Car parking is both ample and free of charge. Pleasant and large outdoor seating area Bar/restaurant is very charming and cosy with nice olde worlde features. Staff were all lovely and service good. Wholesome well cooked and nicely presented food at reasonable prices. We stayed for one night in Room 12. Generally it was okay, but the shower room was in desperate need of some cosmetic tlc. The shower gave a decent flow of hot water, but the sliding cubicle doors didn't meet/join where they're supposed to! The worst aspect however was the very loud creaking floor board noises caused by the guests in room above moving around. Sadly this ruined what otherwise would have been a peaceful night's sleep.

Was a great place for an overnight stay. My only potential issue was the 10pm cut-off for checking in. In theory I needed to get there nearer 11pm, but as it happenedon the day various health factors meant I was well inside 10pm.

Great place to stay in a quiet location but near to Peterborough. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious with tea and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was ensuite with a shower. We had an evening meal which was fantastic, very good sized portions. Would highly reccomend and will definately stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Wishing Well. Sam and her team were wonderful hosts, accommodating our requests and additional requirements with a smile. Dining options in the pub were very good, and we enjoyed getting our whole family together on one evening. Thanks for accommodating us, we look forward to returning again some time in the future

The decline of the Wishing Well is under way. It's easy to see that just a few years ago, perhaps before the current owners took over in 2020, it was better, but from an accommodation perspective it is past any prime it may have had. The rooms are unclean. I had to wash even the (mismatched) coffee cups before use - they still had liquid coffee in them. The shower was grubby, with mould-blackened grout and some former users hand-marks on the controller. It delivered only a faint impression of water. Paintwork is peeling, and a Henry hoover, which blocked the narrow hallway (and therefore the fire exit), was left on display as if to say "yes, we do clean this (badly moth-eaten) hallway carpet". The food at dinner was good (the chewy chips notwithstanding), and the excellent chef - who was in the kitchen when our server commented negatively on the man's ethnicity - was the only staff member present the next day at 9:00, an hour into the breakfast service. Two others arrived in due course to support him, and to explain to us that the kitchen was devoid of breakfast cereals (except Rice Krispies and Cocoa Puffs), marmalade, Earl Grey tea, croissants, and multiple other breakfast standards. Apologies we're made, at least. The rooms were only £85 each, but we expect cleanliness at any price.

Check in was average… room location was poor. Access via a fire escape (not recommended for those who dislike heights nor anyone wearing heels - death trap!). Room itself was in desperate need of updating. Duvet thin which was a problem as fire escape door is open all the time and one window was too warped to shut. For me, as a single female traveler, was told this was because all the rain had caused the door to swell but previous reviewer also mentions this. I had issues with both security and temperature. Second night I rolled up towel and used as a draft excluder. Tea and coffee making facilities provided but if there were two guests in the double room, you would have to boil kettle twice as cuts only possible to fill it a third full due to tiny size of sink. The shower tray was chipped and the bathroom fairly manky. Only one bedside table had a lamp. Bed reasonably comfortable. Bar/restaurant nice but I returned with friend after spending 6 hours outside to be told “no hot drinks because lunch is over so I’m cleaning the machine… if I make you a hot drink it’ll taste like cleaning fluid!” No breakfast available at all… this is apparently temporary. But there is no one on site from 10pm until the bar opens. Definitely not worth £80/night.

The staff were lovely and the pub itself nice. The room though was awful. I'm no light sleeper, but the noise from the other rooms was very loud. Room itself was in poor condition, dusty and the bed uncomfortable.
