Weston Hall Hotel, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western

Third time I have stayed here by far the worst ,firstly price very reasonable however room was tired wallpaper peeling furniture particularly the chair tatty, the shower was a danger hazard as the temperature control did not work correctly. On the positive side the building is lovely and superb parking.

A beautiful historic mansion that needs a little attention. I had a good rate of £68 but wouldn’t want to pay any more for the room I got. Decor is old fashioned. Rooms well worn but had everything I needed. Shower lovely and hot but cubicle fallen apart. All this said I would stay again as it’s close to an account I visit. Staff were lovely I must add.

The pluses. The staff were friendly, plenty of parking the room was clean as was the bathroom. The food quality was excellent. The room was generally quite. Although not a dog owner you couldn't tell the room had previously had dogs in it, due to no sign of doig hair, except for one thing (see the negatives). Easy to get to. The minuses. We weren't told or asked when we booked in if we were there for the Abba night or not. Our room was next to the event hall and so with the disco not ending before midnight we couldn't have settled down before then. (luckily we'd been to see a show in Leicester that evening and so didn't get back until around 11:30pm). I know there were rooms on the opposite side of the hall and it would have been good if we'd been allocated one of those. There was an odour of dog in the room, I didn't notice, my partner did. The reason for giving the hotel a poor rating is that when I got home and was looking at possibly booking the hotel again, as despite the issues we enjoyed tthe stay, I discovered that we had not been allocated the room I had booked in July last year. My booking, through Expedia, clearly states "Standard Room, 1 Double Bed, Non Smoking". I have checked everything and it all states that. We were allocated "Standard Room, 1 Double Bed, Non Smoking (Small)", which is smaller that a Standard room and should have been cheaper. In essence we were downgraded without any reason given. Great experience to stay in such an old place. Well maintained.

Our room was quite small, but the bathroom in comparison was BIG!! However, the room had everything you needed It was clean and warm, and the bed was comfy. Lovely, soft towels in the bathroom. The staff at breakfast were excellent! The staff at breskfast

Nice old hotel but facilities in room a little tired

Lovely setting.

Staff very friendly and helpful. The main hotel was lovely but the bedroom we had is due a makeover, wallpaper was coming loose in a number of places. The pillows were also flat and hard, we got them changed but still not great.

Lovely clean hotel. There were lot of functions on when I was there so food wasn't great on the evening (overcooked so dry and burned) which the staff apologised for. Breakfast was cold but was microwaved when I asked. Staff all really friendly.

Small double was extremely small and cramped, Good shower, but again very small bathroom.

Approach to the hotel and its grounds was nice. A great period building. I ate at the hotel and the food and service was great. I paid extra for a great room - apparently I was in the honeymoon suite. I was absolutely freezing. I didn’t connect the dots on entry to the room but there was a slight damp smell. After my evening meal, I returned to the room to find it was freezing and on investigation the radiator was continually leaking from one of the feeds. Clearly been like this a while based on the growth on the carpet and the fact the radiator TRV was switched off. I couldn’t sleep and I imagine most would have complained and asked for a refund. I was away on business and had more pressing things to worry about. There’s no heating other than the towel rail, so I was cold. There was only sparkling water on the table in the room (who drinks sparkling water anyway?!) Bed was quite small - only a standard double so I couldn’t even get under the sheets to stay warm. Enough said - I’d try somewhere else next time.

Older property with plenty of character.

Arrived to ample parking and an extremely attractive manor house and setting. The welcome at reception was warm and cheerful. Our room (twin) was spacious the bathroom fine and the service was excellent. The included breakfast, maybe a little early for retired codgers like us, was very good and the staff all cheery and helpful, as were all the staff we encounted. Would definitely use this hotel again if back in that part of the country. A wedding was being held there during our stay, there is a large marquee to one side, and the garden had been decked out to look wonderful. Just to add that although there was a disco in the evening we never heard a thing in our room.

OK for a stopover but the wifi was terrible and I needed it for my work.

Shower leak issue - bathroom floor flooded each morning - probably the worst ever restaurant fish and chips I’ve had - place is generally run down and needing an upgrade- four poster bed post meant it obscured the tv screen

My partner and I spent 1 night at this hotel to celebrate our 2nd anniversary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The place has a great atmosphere, friendly staff and food was delicious. Only problem as its very remote in a small village there isn't much to do near the hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel quite alot and have noticed each time we have been the room has got smaller and smaller in fact the bed we had on our last visit was not even a double and so small only one bedside table wall side of the bed, so it will be some time before we book there again
