The Duke Of Richmond Hotel

Nice property, close to town, staff were friendly and willing to help. We booked a harbour view room with Expedia and asked about the VIP room upgrade on check-in however the upgraded room was run down and no view and dark. When we asked for the original room w/ harbour view, it was 100 times better, bright and nice views... Staff in general are all very friendly and polite - all from Africa with great manners, care, and willingness to help.

A very impressive hotel with excellent facilities. Friendly and professional staff. My only negative comment would be the size of the room and bathroom, which were rather small and cramped, but a very enjoyable stay

We only stayed one night over NYE due to its proximity to the event we were at so we didn’t use the hotel’s facilities. The staff were very friendly at reception and in the restaurant where breakfast was served. Breakfast was tasty and fresh. The hotel room itself was clean and fine for our requirements but it was definitely in need of updating.

We were moved to the OGH and were throughly spoiled. We had a King sea-view room which was wonderful. The bed and bedding were first class, very comfortable. The hotel was immaculate and staff were all impeccable. We loved our four days there and wish it could have been longer!

Still lovely service but rooms require an upgrade - hotel not suitable for wheelchair users. The staff were extremely helpful especially regarding the limited parking.

Very enjoyable stay, great service and the kids loved the pool. Location is walking distance from St Peter’s Port centre and the harbour.

Stayed here before and expectations were high. A very nice hotel with friendly and efficient staff. Room was quite compact but everything was to hand. Overall a pleasant stay for business

We enjoyed a spacious room with a big terrace. Breakfast was excellent. Location was great, with a pleasant walk down to the sea front. Thank you to very nice staff.

Beautiful hotel lovely tentative staff!

First room offered was in the attic and very small. Changed to a larger room but right next to the air con units and kitchen fans so could not open windows. Air con inefficient. Had one meal in the restaurant. Both had the curry which was tasteless and the chicken was tough. However the staff were all very friendly.

Great hotel. A little away from the town centre so a little quieter. Lovely park opposite. Staff were brilliant. Warm pool, nice terrace.

Fabulous, staff couldn’t be more helpful. Room is great, the bedding is the best I’ve slept in. Bathrobes are fantastic and bathroom products lovely

What makes this hotel so worth staying in are the staff. Really attentive and helpful, particularly the team in the restaurant. Food was really good too…would definitely stay again.

Service & staff excellent. Sumptuous decor but not always practical in the bedroom i.e. drawers not suitable for clothes.

Offered an upgraded, very spacious room at a sensible price. Rooms and general areas comfortable and somewhat quirky. Better seating in the dining area (orangery) would be beneficial. Personal selection for breakfast was good but the area was rather cramped and would benefit from reconfiguration. Not sure if the two leapord skin thrones in the bar/dining area added anything at all to the decor! As in most of Guernsey parking is at a premium especially as the hotel has only 5 dedicated spaces. The hotel was nicely positioned for us. The walk to the waterfront was about 10 minutes and all downhill. Which of course means the return was all uphill and was quite steep in places. Those less agile may wish to consider this. We enjoyed our stay at the Duke of Richmond which was good value.
