Colonna Palace Hotel

The WiFi in Room 440 doesn't work, so pick another room. My personal devices with international plans, my hot spot and the hotel-run wifi all didn't work. With the exception of that, we thought the rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The wait staff was very friendly and engaging. The location is directly across from the Italian Parliament building, so there is constant security. It's also very centrally located. You can walk to most places. While this cannot be attributed to the hotel, the hotel offers to arrange for the airport pick up. We provided our flight number and time of landing. The driver apparently arrived at exactly the time of landing we had provided. Our plane was 10 minutes late and it took us another 50 minutes to disembark and go through customs, (no checked bags). The driver texted and said she couldn't wait any longer and that she was leaving, but that she would return in one hour. It was 2 am and I didn't want to wait at an empty airport with my 11 year old son. She insisted that we would be charged. We ended up getting a taxi and saved about 15 euros. We also refused to pay for the driver. If you arrange for the pick up from the hotel, be sure to account for the time that you disembark.

Colonna Palace is a decent tourist hotel in the heart of Rome. Its best attribute is, undoubtedly , its location. Right across the parliament, and within just a few minutes of walking from the Trevi fountain, and the Pantheon. Just about all of Rome’s major attractions are within a 20-25 minute walk, including the Coliseum and the Vatican. On the other hand, because the hotel is right in front of the parliament, the square has frequent demonstrations during the day, and loud tourists during some nights, whose noise is noticeable even on the fifth floor. The room (at least the one I stayed in) was very small, with effectively no space to move around. The toilet was decent size, modern and clean (the full size bidet was a pleasant surprise), however, there was signs of (possibly former) mold on the edges of the bathtub and the walls. Those should have been cleaned. The breakfast is fine, though there could be a bit more variety in cheese and cold cuts. The pastries were not very good either. There is free WiFi, however, the signal strength was too weak, and the connection was useless. I was unable to use WiFi. The front staff is attentive and helpful. The rooftop terrace has some spectacular views. Overall, it is not quite the four star hotel it advertises itself; however, there are enough good things about the hotel that I would probably stay here again when I return to Rome.

Excellent location and convenient to walk to many sights! Great views over city and nice area to sit and cool water jacuzzi pool . Great breakfast included. Negatives- some areas need refresh paint. Walls heavily scuffed! (Our room). Busy area as political buildings there so cannot have drop up ( pick up) at Lobby doors so had to drag luggage around side of hotel over cobblestones! No thanks! Some staff- rude or ignored us. Not important guests I guess! No kettle / coffee maker in room so asked for a tea! Seemed to be a serious offence. Drank our water and left over drink from outing in rooftop - not allowed! Had to order from bar- but that entails ordering from lobby bar to be delivered up to you. Strange set up!

Excellent location for walking to many sights. Offered breakfast included and roof top views with bar option and cool pool. Small jacuzzi cool pool! Stairs and elevators convenient to all floors and only 6 floors. Next to political buildings so surrounded 24/7 by protection guards . Complaints - cannot be dropped ; picked up) at hotel lobby so need to drag luggage around side of Building over cobblestones! Not great!_ Some walls need paint refresh. Rather marked up for a good hotel. Have to order bar in lobby - they deliver to roof bar? Weird! Biggest complaint - several staff were rude. Ignored us or spoke down to us ! Not ok!

The hotel was in the perfect location, close to everything, And the pool although small offered much needed relief from the heatwave that we encountered! I would definitely stay here again!!

Location was great, staff was great, lobby nice! That was it! Room was awful...bathroom in disrepair, noisy ac, smoke smell everywhere... breakfast area was dirty, birds everywhere! Dirty tables. I would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel location is perfect for walking to central landmarks. I stayed in a single and it was basically a twin bed against a wall. The mattress was rather hard and uncomfortable. Shower size is not much bigger than a phone booth. My relatives stayed in a double and their room was much more spacious and the shower was in a bathtub. They did mention the mattress was hard also. I would stay here again but upgrade to a double.

If you’re looking for a location close to the sights; this fits. If you’re looking for a room that is clean, has a mattress where you can’t visibly see the springs in the mattress, where the carpet isn’t stained including gum or something matted into it, where the toilet seat is attached and the shower handle stays on the wall, this is not that hotel. I asked twice to have the bathroom issues resolved and the light bulb hanging from the ceiling fixed; only the light bulb was dealt with.

Advertised with air conditioning - did not exist at all for our room. Room was in dramatic need of refresh, lots of stains and ceiling crumbling in shower. Extremely loud, mainly because windows had to be open to survive the heat. Heat panel in bathroom contacts your body on stool. We actually left, even though non-refundable, as the heat was too oppressive.

We stayed here for 4 nights, we liked the hotel, the staff are friendly and It’s walkable and convenient to go to the attractions. It is very accessible to public transportation. It also has a good breakfast buffet that came with the room. We would stay here again and recommend it to our friends and family.

We loved everything about the Colonna Palace. The staff communicated well with us before and during our visit to Rome.

This hotel has an excellent/walkable location only minutes to Treve Fountain and Pantheon. Our room was comfortable with updated bathroom and oversized windows overlooking the piazza. The breakfast every morning was served on the upper terrace and had a wide selection. There was a main level bar (new friend Angelo makes a terrific Negroni 😀). The only negative was the property advertised rooftop bar and pool. (bar was not open during our stay and pool is a hot tub that did not appear to be useable). Negatives aside, overall wonderful base to explore Rome city center.

Best location!!!! Close to everything. Front desk staff were helpful and friendly! Breakfast was way beyond my expectations. I highly recommend staying here.
