Hotel Botticelli

We had to cut our stay very short due to discovering bed bugs in our room the same evening we checked in. This was extremely disappointing and disrupted our trip entirely, especially since we were traveling with a baby and had to drive hours back to Rome the same night. The hotel itself feels quite old and in need of serious updates — from the furnishings to the overall condition of the rooms. The windows, in particular, are outdated and offer little sound insulation. If your room faces the main street, be prepared to hear everything from traffic to late-night noise. That said, I do want to commend the staff — they were exceptionally kind, understanding, and professional throughout the situation. They processed a refund immediately and assured us that the bed bug issue would be addressed promptly. Unfortunately, despite the good customer service, the condition of the property and the bed bug incident make it hard to recommend this hotel without significant improvements.

Our stay didn't live up to the good reviews. Our Superior Room looked nothing like the photos. The furniture was almost broken down, there were stains on the carpet and our shower wand broke and spewed water throughout the bathroom. It was warm when we arrived, the two a/c units couldn't cool the room. It's apparent that maintenance isn't a high priority. On the Plus side. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was good, if you rise early, as some items didn't get replenished. The location is unbeatable, good dining options just outside the door.

We had a great stay at the property. We were able to walk everywhere. The staff were great! Highly recommend.

I have stayed at the Botticelli for years now. At least once a year, sometimes 3 and for a week or two each time. The hotel has been taken over and it is corporate now. The beds are very soft, so it lent to a sore back. I would suggest they bring back the feel of when it was not owned by a big company and also have harder beds with the option of a soft pillow top. You can't do it the other way around and make a soft bed, harder. The staff is nice and the lobby is nice.

Great hotel in a very central location, walking distance to all the major attractions and also the train station. I'd stay again.

This hotel does not have air conditioning despite what the description says. The temperature is centrally controlled and we were told that since it is still getting cooler in the evenings they would not be turning on the air conditioner during our stay. They did offer us a fan and we were able to open the windows, but then we were subject to all of the loud noises outside all night. It is in a great location, within walking distance to most of the tourist attractions and the train station and plenty of restaurants, and that’s the only reason for the 4 stars.

Great location near the train station and within steps of the central market. Staff are professional, friendly, and courteous. Continental breakfast was excellent. Room faced the market and crowd noise could be an issue in the evening for some. Charming hotel with interesting history. Very good value overall.

Nothing beats the location of this hotel!

Beautiful hotel in the historic center of Florence. All staff, front desk, wait staff, kitchen, housekeeping, extremely friendly and helpful. Housekeeping services took place twice a day to make sure everything was fine. Lovely balcony to enjoy coffee, wine and company. Would come back repeatedly.

Great Hotel perfectly placed in centre of town and close to station and airport tram stop. Very good selection for breakfast and super friendly staff, recommended.

Easy to find and close to everything. Academia Gallery was only a 9 minute walk. Many restaurants and shopping at the market just minutes away. Staff was excellent as we had them hold our luggage while we toured the city. Breakfast was perfect with many options.

The location is excellent. Close to the train station and nestled within the city center. The rooms were very comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was great. The staff at the front desk was a little rude at times, but I’m thinking it may have been the language barrier, as my husband and I are English speakers. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Florence. Be warned that because the hotel is located in the middle of a busy marketplace with a lot of restaurants it can be very loud at night, however the location is very much worth it.

Very nice staff. It is almost impossible to sleep. Beds are comfortable but every street sound is amplified and sounds like people are in your room all night. Curtains do not block windows completely so the streetlight light up the room. Hand held shower wand.

The hotel is in a great location, quiet and safe and there’s a person at the front desk 24/7. It is an old hotel, the rooms are small which is normal, but the bathroom was pretty rough which is why I gave it 4 stars. Walking distance to everything including the train station.

Hotel Botticelli offers an ideal location near Florence’s top attractions, including the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery. The charming Tuscan-style rooms are cozy, well-maintained, and some offer lovely city views. The friendly staff provided excellent recommendations, and the breakfast spread was delightful, with fresh pastries and Italian coffee.
