Shannon checked us in he was a lot of fun and very helpful getting us dinner reservations when we wanted them. We will totally be back. Laid back vibe, very nice place with beautiful views.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Our favorite waitress at the Jamaican restaurant Tayvia Williams was amazing!

Beautiful scenery but staff weren’t always the friendliest and extremely pushy with sales.

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was poorly maintained, dirty, and uncomfortable. The bathroom tub was broken, and the provided iPad did not work at all. Room service failed to provide basic essentials like towels—I had to ask at least 10 times before receiving any. The restaurant food was terrible, practically inedible. Moreover, the staff appeared more concerned with getting tips and handouts rather than offering quality customer service. I strongly advise against staying here.

Great service

The second we walked into the resort we were EXTREAMLY disappointed for the price we paid. The whole resort needs an upgrade/remodel. Staffing needs some serious training. I could count on one hand how many employees made me feel welcome. Last year we took a trip to Secrets Maroma in Cancun and fell in love with the resort and the staff. That is the reason we booked Secrets. However that was not the case with Wild Orchid. I don't think I'll stay at Secrets ever again! Pros: 1- We had butler service included with our package. They never even told us until the next day.Not 1 word about it during check-in. Devon our butler really proved himself and is the ONLY reason we stayed. There is only 1 restaurant that does reservations, everything else is first come first serve, which you're looking at a 2 hour wait because they don't have all restaurants open everyday. They rotate through and only have 2 or 3 open for 3 different resorts. Butlers also had a rose pedal hot bath ready for us the second we got back from a long excursion. Roses on the bed, saving chairs at the beach. 2- The maids did a good job of tiding up all our stuff. Turn down service. Cons: 1-HOT & humid rooms 2-Bugs & Cockroaches all over our room 3-Dirty bathtubs, rundown/old rooms. corroded showers, paint peeling off walls, holes in the floor, broken cupboards and chair legs. 4-HORRIBLE food. one of the buffets the "grilled veggies" were frozen to the plate I couldnt even grab any. 5-Room service took 2 hrs

Great stay friendly staff

The property was nice. My only complaint is that the room was very dewy and everything including the walls stayed wet with condensation. It felt very icky most of the time due to this. And having the air on did not help! The restaurant food could have been better also. Otherwise, a good time was had! And the breakfast is top tier!

People were very friendly and the views were amazing.

The staff was exceptional… Above and beyond. The only con was the musty smell of the room and the curtain/sliding doors needed repair.

We experienced colorism, classism and also stereotype. We are a black couple who were born in Jamaica (background knowledge). We booked the preferred suite on the wild orchids side of the hotel. On arrival to the facility, we were greeted by a bell boy who we told three times that we booked the wild orchids side however he repeatedly tried to direct us to the St James side. The light in the bathroom was not functional ( this we pointed out on arrival and the issue was not rectified). The hot tub on the outside was also not functional. As it relates to dining, the hotel has several restaurants for dinner ; obtaining seating would most times result in a long wait. The waiters were standoffish towards us ; as if they didn’t want to serve us. The food was good, however limited at dinner; portion was small. Breakfast was amazing as it was buffet style and they had variety. I would never return to this resort though.

Friendly staff. Beautiful and quiet

The property is very nice. Restaurants were average nothing exciting, however there was one night that offered a buffet and it had great authentic Jamaican food. Beach access was amazing. Staff was always very friendly and helpful. Room service is provided. Cleaning service is provided every morning. This resort does not attract younger crowds so it was a quiet relaxing stay.

BE AWARE! This was a family trip, and we've been to many resorts, but without a doubt, this was the worst one so far. The location is beautiful—the beach, the hotel amenities—but the hotel staff, especially the managers, were a complete disappointment. I could write an entire essay about what we went through during our five-day stay. To start, we paid for the "privilege" side of the resort, but DON’T BE FOOLED! You have to pay extra just to sit by the water, and even more if you want someone to serve you a drink. Speaking of drinks, if you want one, you’re better off getting it yourself—the average wait time for service was about two hours, and when our drinks finally arrived, they were watered down. In any scenario, falling for the "privilege" upgrade is the biggest scam ever! The extra charges just keep piling up. For New Year’s, they tried to charge us $350 per couple for a tiny high-top table. Instead, we opted for a dinner reservation, but they "offered" us to buy a $60 bottle of wine per couple (even if you don’t drink) at a supposedly included restaurant. To top it off, when we checked out, they charged us for six bottles instead of two. (To cancel the extra bottles from the bill was another nightmare) The staff was shockingly rude—they really looked like they didn’t want to be there. I tried to stay positive with a smile, then tried extra tipping, but nothing worked. They were just unhappy, and I don’t think anyone wants that kind of energy while they’re on vacati

Bought by Hyatt a few years back. Apple leisure group were much better operators. First visit 2023, last visit 2025… never again.
