I had a nice 4 night stay. It’s located in a nice location walkable distance to some sights and close to public transportation. Everyone was friendly and attentive.

The place was spotless, quiet, and in a very central location for all temples and other spots that you need to visit. Almost every attraction you’d want to see in Kyoto is well within a 1h radius of the hotel.

The hotel offered a free shuttle to the Golden Temple and bamboo forest. We loved both, but if you have only one day in Kyoto, skip both and go to the 1000 Tori Gates at Fushimi Inari instead.
The room was comfortable but small, as most hotel rooms in Japan are. Note that the hotel is about a 30-minute walk from the centre area.

I was given the room without window. Wall is too dark (perhaps due to the dark grey paint color plus dark grey curtain). Feels like too tight in that small room size. The front desk is not friendly at all. No smile. Nothing. When I ask something (forgot what I asked), he just pointing his finger. Whitout smile at all. So weird. At the Front Desk you put people who is difficult to smile? I still give 3 * here because toilet is clean and matras is still very good to sleep.
