Overall a lovely place to stay. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The room was spacious and the breakfast was so cheap and delicious. The room was formerly a smoking room so it smelled very strong of cigarettes so that was not too enjoyable. And the Onsen wasn’t very well kept up compared to the other locations. Otherwise the location and price were great.

We are a couple travelling Japan for a couple of weeks and found the property a lovely respite from the busy pace of the larger but amazing cities in Japan.

We had a loveliest time here. Kaki San and her staff were super friendly and helpful, made everything easy for us. Some of the staff spoke little English but were all proficient with Google translate. Making reservations for dinner and breakfast was a great idea - there are many restaurants in town but eating at the ryokan is an experience in itself, plus the food here was excellent! Being in the middle of the town made it easy to go to all the onsens - the ryokan provides a free pass to all seven onsens till 1pm on the checkout day. The ryokan's own private bath is reservable with a fee and is totally worth it. Only four slots each day so it's advisable to reserve early if you can. We would definitely book again if we are to visit Kinosaki next time.

Couldn’t have started our stay any better with a warm and detailed welcome from a real person who spoke good English. She was funny, warm and went out of her way to be helpful. Then we had a lovely introduction to our room with a lesson on how to wear a yukata and were made and served a pot of tea. It felt such a cultural welcome and the room was a very Japanese cultural room with futons, mats as low furniture. We were given free passes to all the onsens in town and had a lovely time visiting them all in our yukatas. Unfortunately the restaurant at the venue was booked out for the meals we were there for- obviously the other guests knew better. The local shops open late and finish early but the concierge warned us about this and gave us recommendations and made bookings for us.

The property itself is spacious and the room I booked was well appointed; it is close to all the baths and an easy walk from the train station. The staff are extremely friendly and courteous- embodying true Japanese approach interactions. They gave tips for eating out and experiencing Onsen culture. I highly recommend staying here. I would stay here again on another visit to lovely Kinosaki Onsen. A special thank you to Kaki-san, Hara-san and Satoh-san. I appreciated your warmth and genuine welcome!

We loved our stay! Beautiful property in a very convenient location, but above all, the staff was absolutely wonderful. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful time. I had a careless oversight and left our train tickets in the room and a staff from the hotel ran all the way to the station to hand us our ticket just in time. Incredible! Thank you so much! We will always stay here when we visit Kinosaki!

Perfect stay in kinosaki onsen. Free pass to all 7 public baths. Super traditional and quite a blast from the past. Everything is very old school and charming, with the exception of the toilet (brand new as Japan does).

Great ryokan in the heart of Kinosakionsen. We stayed in a standard room with no breakfast or dinner. The ryokan has a private onsen, a female public bath, and a male public bath. The male bath is small but nice. You get a pass to go to all the onsens in town for free, and your own pair of yukata, geta, jacket, and a second jacket for cold weather. The service is excellent, though speaking a little japanese will go a long way. Before 430pm there is fluent English speaking staff, but at night there is nobody that speaks English. The rooms are clean, traditional, and quiet. Very fun to spend time on tatami mats and sleep on the floor in futons. At night, you fall asleep to the click-clop of geta on old streets and the laughter of friends and family warm from the onsen. It is really a step back in time, and every minute was a joy.

We stayed for 2 nights in early December. The ryokan gave us warm yakatas and everything we needed to walk around the town comfortably at this time of year to visit the onsens (big umbrellas, handbags for towels). The crab feast was quite an experience as we grilled crab over hot coals and made soup. Maybe worth the money if you're a big fan of crab. Breakfast was amazing, many small delicious dishes that changed each day. We were welcomed in English (much appreciated) and other staff were friendly and adept at patiently explaining Japanese customs to newbies. The ryokan is very close to everything - less than 10 minutes walk to the train station, right on the river and a short walk to restaurants, onsens and the ropeway. Self-serve laundry a great bonus. Totally enjoyed our stay!

This property was very central to Kinosaki, and a great starting point for exploring restaurants and shopping. Also within walking distance of most Onsens.

The location is quite good located almost at the center of this small city and can walk from JR station. The staff and service is great. Only weakness is no soap and shampoo provided in the room
