There's no staff reception or check in staff at the property, but you can easily contact someone on the iPads located on the ground floor. Our room was very compact, but had everything we needed, there was even a bathtub, which is pretty sweet. The room was very clean, the bed was comfy, and the property was within a comfortable walking distance of a train station. All-in-all, a great budget-concious option.

I enjoyed my stay here at Rakuten stay in the okaimono panda room. The only small issue i had was the ac would drip on me at night when i was sleeping. Everything else was really nice. Great area to stay in. I'll definitely book here in the future.

Very easy to use and convenient location for anyone wanting to go to Skytree or usd the Asakusa line. Only negatives were having all the lights connected to one switch, and finding some receipts and postcards from previous guests under the mattress.

The false fire alarm made for a rude awakening on Sunday morning. It wasn’t the fault of the hotel, yet I hope the hotel’s cameras caught the culprits.

Great place to stay if you are on a budget. I enjoyed my stay at Rakuten STAY. Nice area, transits and convenience stores nearby and not far from the Sensoji Temple.

The things I liked about the hotel are that it was super convenient, safe and had easy access to public transport. It’s also in the heart of Asakusa and therefore close to some of the popular tourist spots such as Senso-ji temple. However, I must say that there was no active staff working in the hotel - no staff at the reception so whenever we had issues we had no one directly to speak with. We had issues with AC in our room and had to go down to the lobby area to call through tablets to speak to someone and that someone was not even the direct management person. So it made the whole situation even more difficult. But in the end, we got another room and the issue was resolved.

Room was pretty clean, but things like the shower curtain were stained and there was a stain on the carpet. When contacting the hotel support through email, they weren’t as gracious or accommodating when I asked for my room to be cleaned, and asked me to leave the room for an 8 hour window, from 8 AM to 4 PM. Not sure if that was appropriate, considering I paid for the room and had to leave for basically the whole day from really early in the morning, just because I asked for the sheets to be changed? Felt like they were punishing me for asking. When I wanted to book another night, they were pretty rude and unhelpful, telling me to simply book on my own (which would mean checking out, checking in after 3 PM and being in a new room). Seemed like they didn’t understand the convenience of extending a stay means I don’t want another room. I guess you get what you pay for with this place. If you want better hotel service and better support, I wouldn’t suggest staying here. If you like to be left alone, don’t plan to stay in your room at all, with little amenities, then this place is doable.

Pros: 1. Close by Skytree & Asakusa 2. Restaurants are nearby including Sushiro, Tokyo Sumidagawa Brewing, Muya and etc. 3. The Closest train station is Honjo Azumabashi [A3 exit] 4. Room is clean. There's Nescafe pod, electric kettle, cups, toothbrush, hair dryer. No microwave 5. There's 24 hrs coin laundry nearby and is called コインランドリー - 2 Chome-3-3 Azumabashi, Sumida City, Tokyo 130-0001, Japan. No detergent needed since the washing machine comes with it. 300 yen per wash Dryer - 100 yen for 10 min & you will need at least 30 to 40 min. Cons: 1. No room service by staff - For 8 days, there was no fresh sheet or towel 2. Called the phone number regarding with the fridge that got no power, they sent me email instead. Until my friend who know how to speak Japanese & they finally come fix it. A button on the wall with Jap writings on it fixes it. 3. The fridge is moldy. I think the previous person got the same issue but they didn't need it. I had to clean it with disinfected wipe before using. 4. Didn't receive the door code the night before. Until I realized they sent it to me over the email few hours before my arrival in Narita. 5. Make sure you know your reservation number beforehand, you need it to check in and check out on the tablet. 6. When you use the hotel tablet to call them, the line is usually busy and tell you to call back at later time. 6. It's hard to understand the staff over the phone. But if you know Japanese, you should be fine.
